Hunted this afternoon and saw 23 does and that shed buck....he was still harassing the ladies. About 15 minutes before legal shooting time was up, two guys on quads came down a old logging road from the Developement on the other side of the woods. The deer that were in the field started running to the other side and these two a-holes chased them around the other side. It is a big field so they actually waited for them to get 3/4 of the way across before racing to the other side. The deer changed direction and again, they waited for them to get almost to the other side then chased them again. This time they ran to the fenced in horse pasture near my neighbors farmhouse. My stand is about 100 yards from the field but with the leaves gone from the trees, I can see the field pretty well. The deer really don’t need to be stressed this time of year. Calling the warden is a waste because by the time he would’ve gotten there, the were already long gone. I will say one thing....those quads were super fast, but weren’t loud like 2 strokes. I’m guessing they were 4 strokes....I’ve got a Polaris 550 and it is nowhere near as fast as their quads were.

Back at it...

Hunted a few hours this morning.

Had a gobbler underneath the entire time just gobbling away.

I got'em on trailcam for the past week or so. Nice size bird!

No deer though.

Different stand for this evening.

30* with a stiff SW steady wind of about 10-15 mph in my face.

Good luck to whomever is hunting!

Skunked as well this evening...

Here are some trail-camera photographs from just the other day at the tree-stand location that I hunted this evening.

I believed it captured the same buck that I missed on Thursday, but from a different tree-stand that's located approximately 500 yards to the Southwest from this particular one.

He just might be in the area still cause I have several other photographs of Does that may not have been bread yet possibly and he's looking for'em!

He appeared to be hot to trot at this location I think looking for those Does based on what I captured on the tail-camera.

Here's the turkey that's been hanging out in our area over the past few weeks and was underneath me this morning for at least couple of hours.

Seen a coyote from the stand @7:45 this morning.

It was about 100 yards away heading further Northeast when I quickly pulled out my hand call from pocket.

After a couple of rabbit in distress calls that I made, it stopped dead in it's tracks, turned around and started heading towards me.

I made a few more sounds and it got within 70 yards and stopped.

About that time, an actually Cottontail ran out from a big clump of knocked down CRP and ran towards a down tree roughly 30 yards away from the coyote.

The coyote finally turned background and headed straight towards the lower CRP field, away from me once again.

You can see CRP field in the upper top photograph.

I'd say if I had one of my rifles rather than my bow this morning, I do believe that coyote would've been killed.

Oh-well, I'm off to do some tree cutting, log splitting & stacking now.

I'm prepping for the big cool down that we're suppose to get mid week starting Tuesday.

I'll try to get back out later this evening.

Best of luck to whomever is out there today!

No blood spilled on my end tonight. Saw a doe stand up briefly in the neighboring CRP then she laid back down. Based on her location I think she saw or heard me walking out.

Last night was a skunk for both Drew and I. Im considering taking a rifle for a walk tonight for one last squirrel hunt. Or maybe my bow or maybe just give in and drink a few beers in the warm house....
