I wasn’t a kidCouldn’t of had anything to do with dumb kids bouncing the front tires off the ground...
They do it for construction vehicles but why not F250-350 trucks? We've got an F750 single axle dump truck... Cummins motor and an Allison tranny.I have always wondered that as well. I've seen Cummins dropped into a lot of things but never a Cummins in a Ford mated to an Alison.
Injectors showed up Friday. Went with new (not remanufactured) Bosch stock injectors, new lines, new cups and new gaskets. I kept reading over and over about people having failures after 20,000-40,000 miles. So I just spent the money to get all new parts and be done with it. Beyond this, I’ll just fix things as they break. Not gonna build it, just gonna drive it. Save my money. I need a shop...Focused and basically bought another camper today. Just gotta figure out details, but I’m gonna buy it either way. Cleared codes on the truck a few minutes ago, gonna drive it north in the morning and see what returns. Injectors need done, haze has started. Floored it for the first time today and was actually impressed with what it had. Still gonna go ahead and probably go oversized injectors and a tune. Trans go Jr to improve flow in the transmission. Fuel tank strap broke about a month ago...guessing I’ll do a fuel system while I have the bed off to fix that.
Suspension will get some bilstiens on the corners.
Interior has the normal dash issues, I’ll send it out to get repaired. I’ve got a door blend actuator on the fritz, it’ll get replaced while I have the dash apart. Multifunction switch (blinker) turns off my cruise when I signal left and sometimes sticks on. It’ll get replaced. Radio sucks as it crackles real bad. It’ll be replaced along with the speakers.
Gonna need tires here soon. Prolly get rims and tires. Also smoke the windows. Add my lights and maybe do some bumpers (these are showing rust). Ditch the chrome. Tow mirrors.
All in all, it’ll be an expensive go and I’ll still have a used truck. But, it’ll be a low miles LB7. I can’t touch a newer diesel with these miles for anything close to what I’ll have into this one.
My goal will be this look.

You get that thing and actually use it and you're gonna be breaking shit with that lift. Trying to offload mine for the same reason.Picked my truck up last night. Runs like a top. Then a caliper stuck on me today. Angered me enough to take a look around...how does this even seem like a good idea?

Being that I’m about $18,000 into this old truck now. I know the right answer is to just replace the caliper. But it’s gonna need tires soon. I know...I know...still cheaper to keep her. But but but...it’s a 1 ton, single rear wheel, long box and already lifted! Hey dumbass, knock it off and turn it over to the TOO boys. Surely @5Cent has some sense and will smack me upside the head.
Yes, that was a real argument I just had with myself
But it sure does look cool. You get that thing and actually use it and you're gonna be breaking shit with that lift. Trying to offload mine for the same reason.
Bahahaha yes it will. Next time shoot it on top of the damn hill. Still can't believe that smackdown you laid on her. That’ll be easier for me to jump out of and chase deer over the hill. Nice!
Got lucky is all.Bahahaha yes it will. Next time shoot it on top of the damn hill. Still can't believe that smackdown you laid on her.
