My buck from this past season scored gross 147 and I bet it only weighed about 120.
I'm on the same page as Joe. I think tine length HAS to be considered. In fact, I'd like to see the two tallest tines on each side be counted along with inside spread and circumference of each base. Some one who shoots a stud needs to be rewarded. You could even throw in main beam measurements. Those are all pretty simple and can be proven with a photo.
As far as weighing the deer, I don't have access to a scale. Heck, I don't think the local check in station even has a scale anymore. Everyone has a tape measure though.

I agree with Cotty. I can put a buck on a scale, but who know how accurate it is. Plus, it is hard to judge based on the picture. A simple base circumference measurement, plus a length of each tine (minus stickers) will separate the big boys from the rest. Once we get into the giants, we can figure it out from there. Like if someone gets an awesome double drop (like Hoytmania's from 2009, 2010?) we can award points with a voting system since that's how TOO was built.

It won't be complex once it's hashed out......which is why this thread was started in the first place. A system needs to be talked about a little before it is implemented, and everyone is having their say. Looks like the democracy of TOO is working just fine.

5pts for a doe (# up to states legal limit, including urban tags (controlled hunts))
5pts for a buck + 1pt for each point
5 x-tra pts for a buck + camera pic (1x chance)
5 x-tra pts for taking a youth hunting (1x chance)
I see this as a deer hunting contest. A contest to compete against other hunters (in a friendly fashion) for the overall number of deer taken by the team. A buck is above and beyond and the extra things for measuring, weighing, etc should be done when doing a buck contest. When I was growing up, it was always "how many points", not "did it score over 140"?"lmao

Hmm thought I had already said it but I am in! I like the idea of hunting with a TOO member for bonus the most closely followed by taking a youth.

I live up here in the sticks and there isn't another member within 50 miles of me that I know of......besides that, who bowhunts with another guy anyhow?
I can see it for turkey hunting, but I don't want another guy sitting in the tree with me for any reason, just saying.
I don't think you have to hunt in the same stand/blind. Just go out hunting together. If we were to limit it to what individuals have available to them then we may as well just skip all bonuses and just make it 5 for does 10 for bucks.
I just don't wanna see the fun sucked out of it. Getting together and hunting with fellow Toozers sounds like a good time TOO me. Not like anyone is winning a grand prize.
I don't have kids old enough TOO hunt but I think it is a good bonus.
