Yes I’ve definitely considered that! A stand alone 12v battery in the bed under the platform feeding the fuse block charged by a portable/quickly deployable solar panel. They are crazy cheap and, like you said, completely independent of the vehicle’s electrical system. The initial investment cost of an additional battery would certainly be worth it in the long run.Nice score and plan Issac. You think you'll use it enough to justify a small solar panel and standalone 12v battery in the back? Would help to not strain vehicle system and provides redundancy.

Was a damn fine day for just about any task. Wife cleaned inside, I cleaned outside, kids ran wild all day. Everyone was happy!
