The universe heard me and it told Home Depot to send me two coupons, one for $100 off my next purchase over $750 and wouldn't you know it, a coupon for 18-months no interest in purchases over $500. Alright then, give me that Traeger Pro 34, the shelf, some pellets and let's call it a day.
Guess I'll have 2 grills and a smoker for sale by the end of the weekend!

Keep one of those grills for steaks. The traeger on high doesn't sear like grill.
I have a Lodge skillet with the grill lines in it. With an electric cook top, I can sear like a mofo with that thing.

I’ve wanted one for years. Just never wanted to spend the money since I have a perfectly good grill and not a ton of free time. Well, with this new job working 4 days a week and the wife homeschooling now...I really had no reason not to buy one.

One of the nice features of the new Traegers is they have a connection to your WiFi network at home. Not Bluetooth, where you have to be home and in range to check/adjust things. WiFi. That means I could be floating on Lake Erie while my Traeger is at home cooking away, and I can have full control and monitoring of it, aside from actually pulling food off of it. You don’t have to be there babying it all day like a smoker or kettle grill for a long cook. As busy as I am these days, I’m a big fan of things that make life more convenient. Are pellet grills as effective at smoking as a true smoker? No, but they’re 10x more convenient in my opinion.
Smoked wings will go down today. I didn’t spend all this money to not eat my favorite meal! Hotdogs just didn’t do justice. 
They look cool...but I struggle with two things.
1) I have a problem with a grill that I can't use when the power is out.
2) I question having to use two forms of fuel to run it. (pellets and electricity).

What about the rest of the appliances in your house? I can build a makeshift smoker building in less than an hour if needed. And I still have my regular grill. Just adds another option and gives us something to do with everything going on right now. The only time I ever feel like going out to eat is because I crave something smoked. I just made myself more self efficient by getting my own smoker grill. Plus, I'm lazy, so this electric option fits me perfect.
I don't mean to call you out or imply you did anything wrong. I was just listing two of the reasons I haven't been able to justify buying one for myself.
