I'm not sure how an entire caliber becomes uncool, but any Savage bolt action is welcome in my house and it fits the bill for what I'm after, so judge away 😎

. "I only have 3 more guns in mind and I'm set for a good while, maybe for life. "

hahahahaha (coff, coff.) hahahah. Only 3 more... (snicker snicker)… Set for life he says...
Awaaa. Jess... Good Luck with that!;)

I like buying my reloading supplies at gun shows or local and not having to pay shipping.
But gun shows ain't happenin' and supplies everywhere (including online) are scarce.
I'm gonna put out a shameless plug for a favorite vendor of mine - if you're looking for reloading supplies, call
ET BRASS 513-726-4356 ask for Eric - if you get his wife she's just as good
http://www.etbrass.com/
He's running out of some stuff but has bullets available, running a free shipping special on $100 of bullets or brass.
Good customer service. Tell 'em "Danny B Good" sent you.

True. Lots of it can go either way for BC and wind. The 22s vs the 26s vs the 7mm vs the 30s and on and on. The argument of heavier bullets with better long range energy also slides up and down that scale from 50bmg to 220 swift. Enter speed into the equation, you can smoke the pants off a creed in just about every category with lighter bullets out of a 7mm rem mag. The trade off, that 6.5 will still be shooting long after you've rendered that 7mm a smooth bore. 😅. Everything is a trade off. If you just want to punch paper at 1000 yards the 6.5 is a great choice.
Don’t let the bow hunters read this...it’s about speed.🤣

Since ammo caliber & ballistics came up within this thread regarding long range shooting, and after watching this guys video this morning that he posted two days ago, I thought it would be appropriate to share if that's okay with you guys?

Please, I DO NOT care to start any crazy ammo debate, I just wanted to share what I believe is a good resource hopefully to some. This particular Youtuber is just one of many that that I follow regarding gun related topics.

Anyhow, within the video, he goes over a website that I've been using for a couple of years now for most any kind of ballistic calculations, which can be easily printed out and/or stored on your cellphone, which is SHOOTERSCALCULATOR.COM - http://www.shooterscalculator.com/ballistic-trajectory-chart.php . Don't know if anyone here is familiar with it or not?

The person does what I believe is a decent job going over the website capabilities and how it works.

Again, I'm sure many members here that are into long range shooting, if not all, use some sort of ballistic calculator. Perhaps some of you have a much better suggestion/option than what I cared to share here? If so, please do tell,,, and, trust me, by no means do I consider myself to be 'THE EXPERT' on any gun topic, however I'll always share and/or lend an ear on any good information and/or advise, thanks!

I found the site to be helpful for me and easy to use while dialing in a couple of my own rifles.

Hope it helps someone & good luck in whatever you're shooting long range!

Apparently, 'PayPal' has become extremely bias towards the gun community and/or anything to do with gun related purchases.

I first made my order through 'PayPal' and it went through successfully the other day, however the very next day I received and email from the on-line retailer that my order was cancelled unexpectedly. After researching as to why, 'PayPal' refused the order to be processed because they claimed it was fraudulent, SMH. That is utter BS. 'PayPal' will soon be history in our family once I figure out how to transfer all the auto configured bill payment setups that I have currently. F' that company!

Anyhow, I remade the order as soon as possible utilizing a different payment method because the retailer just got them back in stock and I figured they wouldn't last long because I can't find them anywhere else currently.

I just received my order moments ago and I couldn't be happier about it!

Good to know about Paypal. Our news did a report tonight about the increase in gun/ammo sales as well as the increase in CCW permits. Local CCW training booked 2 months out. They interviewed our sheriff. He said (paraphrased) "Not a surprise when you see the liberal mayors in big cities allowing people to do what they want and pulling their police forces out." I'm liking our sheriff more and more. He flat called them out.

A quick follow up regarding this particular ammunition that I just purchased last Sunday, only because I received an informed email notification from the supplier stating it was back in stock and available for purchase from the day before.

Well, I just checked the supplier's inventory again this morning and sure enough, they are already out of stock for it.

I have been on several email notification lists of several other different vendors/suppliers/retailers for certain/particular ammunition that I wish to purchase once whomever gets them back in stock, and the ammo you see above is still unavailable at those other locations supposedly, and it has been that way for well over two months now.

I am still waiting on 'Liberty's Animal Instinct' ammo to become available once again for purchase. I last bought 200 rounds of it just before the plandemic was launched. I went to buy some more of it shortly thereafter back in late March and they were already sold out at the time and not to be found anywhere else on-line.

It's not like I do not have any in my current stash/inventory because I do, and a fair amount of it as well mind you, but I am concerned about the future of our republic to put it mildly.

Ammunition prices appear to be on rise too if you haven't noticed.

Thought this was worth adding to my latest gun related purchasing experience. Who knows, perhaps it's just bad luck on my part when it comes to this kind of stuff, however, I kind of doubt that to be the case.

I'd suggest, or recommend that if you're thinking about a near future firearm purchase, you better get started right now and hope that you can find what you are looking for, because it may be months or better to acquire any such certain ammunition for it if you are picky as I am about it.

Good luck!

I have no idea what it might be like for you guys nowadays, but for me, when I see our UPS guy make his way down our long driveway in that big ass brown truck towards the end of each recent month, I get that same exact giddy feeling from way back in the day, right after running down the old ice-cream man truck that almost made it all the way through our neighborhood as a youngster.

Yeah, that's right,,,, and once I reached that truck just knowing that I had some real hard earned allowance money in my pocket just ready to be spent and no doubt, a super shitty grin on my face from ear to ear, oh yeah, you know it, I spared no expense in buying the best that money could've got me at that time 40+ years ago on a hot summer day.

It is no different than opening up a brand new ammo case box of bad-ass gun cartridges that I sought out specifically to buy with some of my hard earned cash of today,

Our UPS guy had the same shitty grin on his face as well when he handed me the following box. He knew why I was happy to see him. Bet it made him feel good 'TOO'.

Anyhow, another 100 rounds of the Brenneke 3" 1-3/8 oz. 12 gauge slug cartridges added to my SHTF stash.

Already looking forward to next month's new arrival.
