LIVE from the stand 2020-21

I’ve lost or given up quite a few farms over the years. Some were more painful than others. Good luck on your last sit.
I killed by biggest, three years ago out of this stand, on the 15th before my sons birthday party. Well, I have his birthday party at 1800 today, so let's see if the deer gods smile upon me.

Had 10 pointer nice rack strolling by 100 yd yesterday. I grunted at him to stop . He was fired up. He was Just standing there listening to where the call was coming from. He then hopped over the fence to other side of property. I no longer could see where he was at. So, I quickly rattled and nothing seen since. Basket buck came strolling by 120 yd. So, back at it again now

Have been in the stand all day. Some action in the morning lots of does and some bucks. Lots of deer in the distance. Not much for the evening so far. Wind picked up and shifted to across the field beside me. Getting blown around and frozen.

Fingers crossed for the magic hour

Under an hour. Still dry. I'm happy to avoid the rain. Two fawns 100yds away thru the trees in another field. C'mon dice! Roll me a big body buck!

Couple does and a 4pt munching in the field and they scattered when a big bodied buck came out. Looked plenty tall would be a shooter for me but he went behind me instead of in front. As soon as he got downwind he sniffed and trotted off.

Maybe I'll give the hunting clothes a fresh clean tonight apparently I stick out like a sore thumb

From morning legal time to evening legal quitting time, one sit and only one good buck and five antlerless sighted for the entire day. Just the buck and three antlerless deer within bow range. No shot opportunity on the buck.

A brief moment captured from the Tactacam of the buck encounter first thing this morning. Very lower middle part of the photograph, roughly 45 yards away heading South, away from me. Time stamp = 7:17:55 a.m. 11/14/20

No dice. Tha ks again @LonewolfNopack

I did have the best way ever to bounce back. We spotted a couple of bucks a ways off and my 3 helpers got to watch me put a stalk on. That didn't work either, but it sure was a hell of a way to get back on the horse!

Sorry we couldn't find your buck. I was really hoping for some good news in this year of shit. It was awesome watching you stalk that buck though. Im glad you finally closed in on them cause I was about to turn the channel. At least you know there's a big boy living there now.

I can't even blame anything besides myself. I know better and thats the worst part. I got beyond excited and the killer inside me came out. I purposely took a neck shot because that's all I had. From the moment I seen the deer from the arrow being launched was under 3 seconds. I fucked up and that was the first text I sent out. No excuses. I did something irresponsible and an animal paid the price. I should've just let him walk. I can't remember the last time I was that jacked up. Buck wasn't even that big.
