Sermon added a whole dimension to that team that won the previous 2 games. Losing him right off the bat then getting schooled by Smith repeatedly in the first half took a toll on OSUs mind set.
But they didn'tI still stand behind my statement that if the OSU team that played Clemson showed up last night Bama would have had their hands full. Now here comes the fun part. Post game film. I'm going to go back and watch both games again. I want to see what OSU did and didn't do against Clemson and Bama. Did the same team show up and was simply neutralized, or did they just blow it.
But they didn't![]()
WRONG. Notre Dame held Bama to fewer first downs (ND 24 - OSU 33), fewer total yards (ND 437 - OSU 621), fewer passing yards (ND 297 - OSU 464), fewer rushing yards (ND 140 - OSU 157) and fewer points (ND 31 - OSU 52).I'm talking about going back and watching film to see, and you didn't even see the game fool. For all you know NotreDame showed up.![]()

I don't want to be biased. Common sense says: the more the defense is on the field, the more tired they get. Sermon would have helped. He (most likely) would have changed some drives. This freshens up the defense, Physically and mentally.
Haha! Yeah boy!!! Enjoy it, yall earned it this year.

I think the difference was the pressure OSU got on Goldilocks that they didn't get vs Jones. That was where the game was won/lost IMHO.
