Question, we fished blue grass after the rapids in deeper water 4 -5 foot deep, before the boat launch, it was basically shoulder to shoulder in the rapids, Do the fish bite better in the rapids? IF so how do you fish em, (I was told a 1 oz slip sinker was good, thought it was to heavy to many snags, and switched to a half oz caught 3), how big of a sinker would you use in the rapids and how long of a lead?

Probably 1/2oz. Minimum 6' lead for me. As long as 8-9 foot. More floss=more fish

You'd be surprised how man people ask me this. I gt asked about Nate's rig too. I just reply his is similar to most, just nt trimmed up at all

Good scenic view and is all I got today on the way home and one scale. I've fished with no waders late in the run and white basing but today I took a dip in March at 1020 am got there at 10... Was the only person at Jerome Rd for over an hr. Stepped over a ledge on a small rockthat rolled and took about a gallon over the chest. stuck it out wet until 1. Watched another guy ( that had kinda laughed because a I hadn't caught any fish when I went to my truck for dry gloves) take three casts and leave. Out of all 5 people there I saw no fish caught. O well.

So big question to Red and Nate who I consider having alot of river fishing experience and also say that using tails does not matter there....explain to me if that is true why the fishing is almost always better at early morning and late evening? I mean...if you are just flossing them.....it shouldn't matter if you're fishing at 8 am or 2pm...the catch rates should be the same regardless of the hour that you are fishing....correct? I know for sure that is not the case. Only time mid day fishing is usually good is at the very peak of the run when even bad fisherman can get a couple on their stringers.

Again, I'm going to respectively disagree. Midday fishing is just as good and actually better early season. In fact, Monday afternoon, more fish were caught early and it completely died off in the late evening. The river is not the lake, two completely different beasts. I'm sure Ryan will agree with me on this. As the evening was winding down, everyone around Ryan and I were fishing without tails. WHY? Because we were catching way more fish and they were standing right next to us.
