Long back story to this but the readers digest is I flew my 90 y/old mom down to visit us, she brought fresh rhubarb from our old farms neighbor who bought the house I was born in, when dad moved to the farm to take over his dad. LoL...

Marinated two deer steaks and one package of butterflied deer loins in olive oil and Montreal steak seasoning, and one package of deer loins in Italian dressing. Cooked the steaks, loins, hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill. Tried out the maple bbq sauce and maple mustard I picked up while up in Potter county Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago. Everything came out nicely. It’s supposed to thunderstorm tonight and tomorrow so I fired up the grill before the rain started…got enough food to last to the end of the weekend. I knew I wanted a beer while grilling but not sure which one I wanted…so I improvised.😂

It was good by my taste buds but could have been better with a little smoke. My wife said...no smoke, use the gas grill. My son after dinner...Dad, it needed some smoke flavor. I can’t win but I followed my wife’s instructions. Even after 22 years...she hasn’t learned the ways and means yet. Despite being a teacher...she’s still in the learning department.

lol, smokeless brisket? surely, you jest?

I know very well that teachers are slow learners, but after 24 years mine has learned to not bother trying to tell me how to cook. most especially how to cook meat with fire and smoke.
