Thanks for sharing Jesse, I was just looking at some tough stuff that is too far gone for std. string but not large enough for a brush hog.

Anyone using the “saws blade type” of cutting heads on their weed eaters… be sure to wear a proper face shield. Debris can and will fly off of them with more force than a regular string trimmer head. I got a helicopter ride and have a piece of steel in my neck to prove it.
They are great tools but are easily taken for granted because they don’t seem like they can hurt you too bad.

I would recommend safety toed boots also. I had on my Keens and after seeing how well it worked and knowing how hectic trimming brush can get, my toes were a little fearful. It would rip through lesser footwear and lay you open in short order.

Update please. Finally out of string and looking for something a little less agrivating. This chore sucks enough by itself.
Taking a break and putting it on right now. It beats the pants off string and poly blades. It'll do some serious damage to wood posts, etc, so it ain't for "edging", but it lays waste to brush.
After blowing a tire on the boat trailer back in June I decided that was the last time I use a 4-way or tire iron. Went out and bought a battery powered impact. Since then I have changed out all 4 tires on the boat trailer (bought new tires all around). I also changed another tire on someone else’s boat trailer. I will never go without one in the truck. I was worried about Murphy’s law and the battery being dead when I really needed it. So far it hasn’t been an issue. Not to mention it came with a regular home charger and a 12 volt cigarette charger. Worse case scenario I will plug it into the truck and wait a few minutes. Much better than the alternative!

I'm in the same boat, Jesse. High Voltage acres causing undo wear on my Cub Cadet. I've mowed some serious shit with this machine. My mower does not know it's not a brush hog. 23 hp. Kohler Command handles it fine. bearings not so much, lol.
