Proposed '22/23 Deer Hunting Regs

Either way, the plan is simple. Kill them all. Just need to bus some Amish in. You wont be able to find a chipmunk after they are done.

We are recovering from EHD. I have an idea: let's increase the bag limit for our county. I realize it only hit portions of our county, but it will further decimate what we have left in the southern portion of Allen County and northern Auglaize County. Insanity.

I'd be curious as to what ever happened to the Wildlife Council? Was it user "Bawana" (or something similar) who was gathering info? Has anyone ever heard if this was concluded and used to determine any of the future proposals? Not trying to rekindle an old fire. Genuinely curious if that was ever used to make decisions on these proposals.

It's banned. I have a couple buddies at work that hunt Wyandotte that quit baiting. They said all the neighbors still do and basically all the deer abandoned their section
There is going to be some big bucks killed in their summer feeding pattern/bachelor groups this year. I don't think these new proposals will change much, as majority of Wyandotte is private and hunters on these properties will continue with business as usual. Unless the state comes in and really puts on the pressure.
I will also add that public lands in these counties will be a blood bath

The same economics that led to the herd reduction tactics, have been inverted, but the same pockets are being fleeced. As deer populations decline, hunters buy enough corn to feed a South American country in their effort to fill their freezers. Baiting is its own industry now and on the whole, gross "deer corn" sales must certainly offset crop damage at this point. The other side of the coin is hunter efficiency. Ban baiting and deer #s will go up without a counteracting change to the # of opportunities we get with a gun.

Just speculation on my part, but it seems plausible in my mind.

It still angers me that they call CWD a fatal disease. The only way to test for it is after they're dead, so they don't know if it's fatal or not.

The other news that sticks out to me is the late ML season. Jan 7-10
