I've got hills and such, going 54" because anything bigger might have issues per my mother in law and brother in law who do the mowing currentlyYeah, they're all pretty good these days. They have to be to keep up with the market IMO.
With a nice flat yard without many leaves and such, a lower HP motor would be just fine. Then it would be about brand preference.
The Kohler command motors had a pretty bad reputation a couple years ago and the Kawasakis really took off in popularity. The kawasakis just kind of maintained that premium status after the command and command 2 had their issues.Dumb question.... what's the advantage/disadvantage of the different engines for the BadBoys?
2.5 for the yard. 3-4” on the drive depending on the time of year. What height do you guys mow at? First mow was at 3, I raised it to 3.25 today.
I mow at 3.5 have to mow twice a week usually but it stays thick and healthy and seems like it's easier on them when the kids forget that they're not invincibleWhat height do you guys mow at? First mow was at 3, I raised it to 3.25 today.
My scag came with the Kawasaki. So far I’ve been happy with it.The Kohler command motors had a pretty bad reputation a couple years ago and the Kawasakis really took off in popularity. The kawasakis just kind of maintained that premium status after the command and command 2 had their issues.
Yeah they are great motors, mine have the 31 horse. The only thing I don’t like about my scags is the seat. They have a pivoting platform under the seat to make it smoother but I much prefer the air ride seats. Other than that I have no complaints. My scag came with the Kawasaki. I’m about too swap mine out with an air ride if I can find a decent deal on it. I agree, seat is very basic for what a scag fetches. My buddy has the cub cadet with an air ride, I don’t mind when he’s out of town and I cut his grass at allYeah they are great motors, mine have the 31 horse. Make sure the base fits. Some of the models are built different so you can't upgrade without upgrading the mower itself.I’m about too swap mine out with an air ride if I can find a decent deal on it. Yeah, I’ve seen that. Buddy who used too be in the business been keeping an eye out for a deal on one. Shipping is the killer.Make sure the base fits. Some of the models are built different so you can't upgrade without upgrading the mower itself.
First cut was a 3.5” a few days. Today I hit it again and mowed at 3.0”… mainly because I wasn’t sure if I’d have time to mow before next weekend. Just trying to stay ahead of it.What height do you guys mow at? First mow was at 3, I raised it to 3.25 today.
I'd recommend measuring blade height on cement. Physically lay down and measure the blade height and see how it compares to your marks. They all measure a little different. One mower may be 3" measured but the mark showing you what height you are might say 3.5". Depends on dealer set up. Even if the dealer has it dialed in as close as possible, it may vary by 1/4 or 1/2". We have two identical 2021 mowers that cut the same height but only if we set the decks on different height settings to hit that 3" mark.
I put a winch in the ceiling in the shop , doubles to service my mower and deer
Many styles, but this is the style I was talking about having used, Doug. Maybe some others can chime in on their preference or experience. I think his was a Harbor Frieght brand.
