We were in Corolla, NC on the Outer Banks last week. The sound fishing there that far north on the OBX sucks, and I don't fly fish the surf much (none this trip). There is a sweet little pond by our condo, though, and it made for fun short laps before breakfast and before dark.

Southern bluegills are just prettier.

The bass fishing was good. I routinely caught 3-4 ditch pickles on a pond lap. A lot of them I caught on small poppers.

Day 1, on my little panfish rod, I hooked a nice bass that broke me off when it dove into the wood around the little turtle ramp. A couple days later, I hooked another big one on a popper that I fought for a while before the hook just popped free. Finally, on Thursday, I hooked another good one and managed to land it.

myrtle beach surf fishing, absolutely no idea what I’m doing. Went and bought a $25 surf fishing combo at Walmart, ran into a local in camo and struck up conversation, He showed me what to buy, went to lowes bought a piece of 10’ p b c pipe for $7 and cut it with a saw in the store while worker held the pipe. Yolo

bought some frozen squid, finger herring and sand fleas , I’ve been drinking mixed drinks with the wife all day and can barely type this text. It should be a good night I’ll keep you posted!

2 of the eight I caught Monday morning. From 5:30 until 9:30 it was fairly stead, missed a half dozen on top water and 4 at the boat. Not one of my more stellar days it had a lot of fun and had the lake pretty much too myself…. Well until 9:30

Hey Dustin, you know when you’re weed eating along a fence or brush and get too close to them and you feel a tug or it pulls your weedeater in towards it? That’s what a bite feels like when you go fishing. Lol

Not the usual mixed bag for SE Ohio.

Same lake, different creek. So strange.

I finished off some "use it or lose it" time off yesterday with a fun small stream outing. This creek is a trib of a trib of the Ohio River. It's infested with rock bass.

You can think there are prettier fish in the state than longears, but you're wrong.

It's a small stream, this is the biggest bass I have ever caught there.

I saw one a few years back that I am pretty sure was larger than this one, but never hooked it.

no fish pic but just as good. Sorted through a ton of dinks and maybe next years for 6 cleanable gills. I love gills. This pic makes me want to start living more and try to slow down....dont blink.
