Got the MRI's of the Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar yesterday, had them burn disks so the first look will be at the chiropractor today.
Saturday evening I got my bow and accessories out went over everything to get ready to shoot, went out tried to pull my bow back and no can do... very unhappy at this point. Not giving up but unless I can get better in a month to practice I'll be using a crossbow.
Only thing I've been able to do is chiropractor the Neuro. Ortho and Pain Mgt are all in Aug or Sep - VA has stepped up and I have referrals thru Community Care and they're taking care of the Rx scripts as well. https://www.va.gov/communitycare/
After failing on bow practice, got my bands out and started my 'home PT' to try and rebuild the mass and strength I lost since this latest episode started around Memorial day. I was doing a daily 150 pushup, three sets of 50, before and had no issues pulling the bow for Turkey season.
Been bow hunting for as long as I can recount.... 30 years ago, this photo of me bowhunting the South edge of the Grand Mesa in CO mid Sep '92. Thirty years ago! Someday I'll have to set it down but it won't be without a fight.
My inspiration is my OH neighbor Cliff, one back surgery and two artificial knees in the last 4 years and he turned 70 this year. He drew a tag, took 25 years of preference points, to bowhunt area 61 (the Uncompahgre) in CO - he'll be there 29 Aug to scout and hunt next month, he plans to hunt the entire season or until he tags out.
One of his (he has taken 18 elk w bow from everywhere) other CO bulls taken via bow.
