Got the MRI's of the Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar yesterday, had them burn disks so the first look will be at the chiropractor today.

Saturday evening I got my bow and accessories out went over everything to get ready to shoot, went out tried to pull my bow back and no can do... very unhappy at this point. Not giving up but unless I can get better in a month to practice I'll be using a crossbow.

Only thing I've been able to do is chiropractor the Neuro. Ortho and Pain Mgt are all in Aug or Sep - VA has stepped up and I have referrals thru Community Care and they're taking care of the Rx scripts as well. https://www.va.gov/communitycare/

After failing on bow practice, got my bands out and started my 'home PT' to try and rebuild the mass and strength I lost since this latest episode started around Memorial day. I was doing a daily 150 pushup, three sets of 50, before and had no issues pulling the bow for Turkey season.

Been bow hunting for as long as I can recount.... 30 years ago, this photo of me bowhunting the South edge of the Grand Mesa in CO mid Sep '92. Thirty years ago! Someday I'll have to set it down but it won't be without a fight.

My inspiration is my OH neighbor Cliff, one back surgery and two artificial knees in the last 4 years and he turned 70 this year. He drew a tag, took 25 years of preference points, to bowhunt area 61 (the Uncompahgre) in CO - he'll be there 29 Aug to scout and hunt next month, he plans to hunt the entire season or until he tags out.

One of his (he has taken 18 elk w bow from everywhere) other CO bulls taken via bow.

Same here. That came up in discussion here a while back. Seemed a few guys have had them. The wife and I talk about it all the time. Just haven't ponied up yet.
My dad had both of his hips replaced and he cant use one anymore (potentially pull his hips out of new sockets). He mentions all the time how he misses it! I think I was too young for it to do anything for me at the time.

I’m currently laid up with a back issue. Helped my neighbor cut up a downed tree from a storm from a week earlier. Last cut at the base of the tree, pop…. Felt it but the severity of it took about an hour too show up. That was Sunday, today I can get out of bed and out of a chair and not look like an old man… 😂
Going too make a Chiropactor appointment for tomorrow or Thursday and see how that goes.

^ - agreed. I just really like vertical bow. ... I like killin deer 🦌 more so when it's 'that time' I'll hang it up and go read the crossbow threads to see what's good/works and go from there.

...but I'm going to work like hell on myself before that happens. I'm trying to never give an inch of health for convenience.

Was much better today, but I still made an appointment with the chiropractor and went this morning. Feels much better now, just gotta stop trying too do too much for a few more days. Sit for a while, get up and move around some, repeat…. I’m still going too wear this brace I picked up for a couple more days. More of an insurance policy than anything.
I cut the grass on the driveway yesterday evening, just did it extremely slower than normal. Didn’t seem too aggravate it any. So that’s good.
Thanks for checking on me, Dan 👍🏼

Trying a tens unit for the 1st time. Oh my gosh i think you could make someone shit themselves with this little thing.
I love those things! My threshold for them is pretty high, chiropractors assistant won’t let me adjust it too my liking 😂
She says when the shoulder blades start recoiling, it’s time too tone it down 😂😂😂

That didn’t really help me all that much. My unit gave me total control so it was cranked up pretty high. My butt cheek was where the pain was…..maybe my ass was too fat 😆
