1023's 2022-2023 Trail Cam Pics

Might as well come out strong with the third summer of velvet pics for Buddy, and a bonus droptine buck! We found Buddy's shed in March and we know he's likely to clear 140 as a 4 year old. The droptine buck is familiar and is the first legit droptine buck I've ever had. I have had a few with downturned tines, but this is the first "classic" drop coming off the main beam. Gonna be a fun summer watching them grow!

Couldn’t that be that wide heavy 8 or 9 pt wide buck you’ve had on camera a few times or was that in another area. I remember the drop blending in with the back drop foliage but had some nice length to it.

I looked back 3 years and there's a couple bucks that could be him, but none I'm certain about just yet. Once his frame takes on more structure, it may be easier to connect the dots. The long, leaning right brow is the character that's telling me I've seen him before.

I never knew how truly rare a droptine buck is until a big one got shot on the farm in 2017. Of all the bucks captured since I've been running trail cams only two were true droptines and they are special! Best of luck with your herd! Can't wait to see more pics.

Droptine bucks are cool! I have been lucky enough to kill 5 droptine bucks from 4 different farms. Hope ya get a crack at him Jesse!

All true. Hate to rob the girls of it though. Kinda feel like I should be done killing bucks on this patch of dirt as long as one of them is hunting. But daddy has an itchy trigger finger, so who knows

Some lessons in life are better taught. Like how hard work allows you the opportunity to do what you want. How when some things aren't handed to you, they mean so much more.

Another one will takes its place. Tag out and move on

Managing for does wasn't the thing I thought I'd be doing with this farm, but that's the pattern we've all settled into. The shift is happening and more does are filtering in to some of the best cover and fall/winter food sources around. They'll get comfy, stay through the season, and in 6-7 weeks, the parade of bucks looking for love will start ramping up. Crapapples with a side of clover for these ladies this morning.

Been running cams since 2004 and this is the first legit droptine I've ever had in over 100K pics. Not only that, he's one of the nicer main-framed 8s I've had on cam, especially with the age he's got. Legitimately a dream buck and the sum bitch done broke it off already!
