Man it seems that Ohio and pa are getting a lot more winds like these than in the past. I don’t ever remember winds here at home like we have been getting. Can’t leave the house without a chainsaw.
What’s with the roof shingles on the house coming up like that? Don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that before…..Wild afternoon on my road. There's multiple houses with minor shingle damage, but the green house is the neighbor next door to the N and the barn is the neighbor next door to the S. I heard it hit the barn and immediately changed clothes to head over. He's always in the barn, so I was worried he and/or the horses were inside. Thankfully, only the barn was harmed. I had an hour to spare before a family function, so I helped him get the most of his hay moved and some of the tree cleaned up. Going to be tens of thousands of claims across that state. We still had power when we left, but no cell service or cable/internet. I'm nervous as hell about the camper. It's in a terrible spot on a windy know.

I've seen it happen is smaller sections, never like this. My guess is that since that side sees sun all day, they're well adhered to one another, combine that with a run of bad nails/nailing and it might lead to this. I'm wondering if that white underlayment contributed to it.What’s with the roof shingles on the house coming up like that? Don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that before…..
That’s what I was wondering also. I’m seeing a lot of that underlayment down here.I've seen it happen is smaller sections, never like this. So they ended up reroofing the whole house after they came to inspect the failure. It wasn't short nails, but they had the pressure too high on the gun and blew most of the nails through the shingles. The guy who owns the roofing company has since fired the lead roofer due to needing to reroof "a bunch" of houses.Could've been a number of things but I'm gonna say short nails.
Windy AF down here, forecasters saying 50+ mph winds. @Clay Showalter you getting any of this yet?Sounds like a nasty front watching the news.
