Yep—agree. cooler temps may be making it more comfortable for bucks to run. We’ve had some bad Indian summers last 5 years. Going to try go low impact on my woods til Rutcation starting November 7th through the next week. I little later than I normally would but seems like I’ve seen most of...
If what I just witnessed is normal, smoking clothes will be a requirement for anyone hunting my property. Doe fed on acorns for 15 minutes directly downwind from me at 25-35 yards. Never acted the slightest bit spooky.
Had 2 does at 15 yards at 8:30. Acting suspicious, so was about to shoot bigger one before they had a chance to blow. Boot rubbed tree stand cable and they took off….and blew of course. Nothing else. Cameras again showed more mid day activity again yesterday.
Just got my bee hive smoker in the mail. I smell like an ash tray but if I dont get blown at 15 times tonight like usual, it will be a success. Could have shot a doe on the way to the blind but not what I’m after.
I have real steep terrain and the thermals are a real problem. Buddy of mine saying he has started spraying his clothes with Nose Jammer and it seems to work great. Had been toying with buying a bee hive smoker but anybody tried Nose Jammer?
One year old was the aggressor, posturing and circling to get something started up. Two year old attitude was like “save your energy young fella-we got a lot of sleepless nights, ass kickings and sexual frustration ahead of us for the next month”
Heck of a nice doe. Slipped out for couple hours after work. Sitting over clover when it feels like I should be among the acorns but easy access and good wind. Jumped one bedded right behind blind. We’ll see if the 9 pointer shows up before dark. Good luck to anyone out.
Thanks. I was wondering if maybe hit by a car in the past or something. On high alert with EHD scares but doubt she would be casually browsing with other deer if that were the case.
