Good day, bad day on the damn dam for whistlepigs.

Nice shooting! 22 Mag is a great round. I managed to nail one years ago at 182 with one. Not being much of a rifle guy, it looked like it was a mile away to me. 😁

    Small game 24/25'

We tried a dove hunt this morning. Pretty slow. Sure doesn’t appear to be many doves in our neighborhood. We did bag a few. Mason killed this collared dove. I’ve never seen one. Apparently quite rare in Ohio but JB said they have shown up over the last ten years or so.

Put Mason down for six. But until Jamie comes down he probably won’t shoot another. Oh yeah, I got one too.

    ATV/UTV

So far I really like the pioneer I bought a couple years back. I think it’s the 700. That thing is a tank. I ve had it places I’d be afraid to take the old Foreman. I don’t know if it’s better or worse than any other since it’s the only one I’ve had.

Shooting Does - Early Season or Late Season

In my opinion it makes zero difference. On one property we will have a pile of does early in the season. If we do not dump corn (we usually do not), there will be very few deer of any kind using the place. The reason is we have the only Ag for miles on our place. We only have 20 acres of...

    Wild flower patch

Seth and I see it firsthand with our drones every time we fly. A one occasion last September we counted 48 deer in a 150 acre patch. There was not a single deer in the surrounding alfalfa or beans. It is a gold mine for deer among other critters. Whomever developed that mix hit a grand slam.

    Deer Contest

https://www.facebook.com/share/BYDGj5WqdccVLqq5/?mibextid=WC7FNe One of my friends owns a pretty good archery/hunting store that is housed alongside his pharmacy in Bainbridge. He is hosting a deer and video contest this year. It is formatted similarly to the Quest contest that has happened...
