Opening day in Kentucky. Mason and I went to a new area. Found a spot and bagged a deer.

First afternoon of dove season. Not many birds around but we killed a few. Mason bagged this collared dove.

First morning of squirrel season.

We tried a dove hunt this morning. Pretty slow. Sure doesn’t appear to be many doves in our neighborhood. We did bag a few. Mason killed this collared dove. I’ve never seen one. Apparently quite rare in Ohio but JB said they have shown up over the last ten years or so.

Put Mason down for six. But until Jamie comes down he probably won’t shoot another. Oh yeah, I got one too.

Jamie is good for 150-190. 😁😁😁

I enjoyed a relaxing morning. I shot one because ya have to. Mason of course cleared the magazine. 😁

So far I really like the pioneer I bought a couple years back. I think it’s the 700. That thing is a tank. I ve had it places I’d be afraid to take the old Foreman. I don’t know if it’s better or worse than any other since it’s the only one I’ve had.

Seth and I see it firsthand with our drones every time we fly. A one occasion last September we counted 48 deer in a 150 acre patch. There was not a single deer in the surrounding alfalfa or beans. It is a gold mine for deer among other critters. Whomever developed that mix hit a grand slam.
