Being an ex-competition and pleasure coon hunter I was knocked back when I read that Fred Moran had his nationally known,(don't know what title Homer had but I think it was Grand Nite CH) Homer dog killed by a car while in a cast on a night hunt at National Rebone Days. To make it worse Dwayne Brough, (of Oak Harbor OH), had his Grand Nite CH Squaw dog also killed in the same hunt. I knew both these hunters personally and Fred Moran started me coon hunting as a teen in Pittsburgh PA area. Acouple of years back Fred also had his Nite Ch Rocket dog shot by a woman who claimed she thought it was a coyote. The dog had an illuminated electric collar on when it was shot,(high tech coyote). I had talked to Fred a couple of months back as I was thinking about starting to run hounds again and he told me he had a law suite for $35K against her. He also said her attorney had tried to settle for $25K and he refused it. Some big money in these hounds to be killed on the road....
