Awesome job Chad! Those two look to have great pelts! Did you do any calling if so what calls did you use? I'd like to get one tanned. How much would it cost to have one skinned and tanned?

Yeah, I let out a "WHOOP"! to the first one as he was trotting across the field to get him to stop just before I pulled the trigger on the 250.......the other one no.

I think it would be around $100 to get one tanned, maybe less. I have 2 beautiful yotes (large males) already skinned out in the freezer if you want one of those....unless you want to kill your own. I can find out how much for a good tan job. My taxidermist sends all his hides to California to get done, but they come back real nice.

Ric- I have one getting tanned right now. I am thinking $120-130. However, I was paying another $20-30 for the feet to be done. Not sure if this is a good deal or not. First coyote I have had tanned. this is a member of the site and I was not going to shop him around or question his pricing. He is a good guy and I am sure he will do a nice job.

Id love to hunt them but I dunno if I want to go through the whole mess of trying to find a "ditch" for the carcass...plus yall say they stink so bad...
saddlepants,
Hook the thing to your bumper, drop it off in the closest creek and turn it into turtle bait. :smiley_blink:

Or...if you're using a big enough rifle, there won't be much left to pick up. :smiley_chinrub:

Been there , done that getting tired of trying to find places and not get caught. HAHA one of the "deserted" places I dumped bones a time or two now has a huge gate and no trespassing sign! LOL I give all my deer parts to an education wildlife place. Speaking of which Im sure they could use some since I cant seem to provide for them anymore. They feed the leftovers to skunks, foxes, vultures, owls, ect that are all part of a Ohio wildlife education program. These are animals that cannot return to the wild because of either injury or being made "pets" by dumbasses. If anyone is interestd I can post the link

Thanks for the offer Chad! I'm sure those pelts are top shelf but it would be sweeter if it were killed by me. That's all but thanks a bunch "yote slayer"! Lol

You're thinking way too hard for the county that you're in...

Hey Guys........ Moyle Mink & Tannery is the Official Tannery for the National Trappers Association (They tan for anyone though) I have had a few furs done there and am pleased with their work. Getting a coyote tanned is only like $23.00 It needs to be skinned, scraped (canines are easy to scrape) and dried. But just mail it in and it mails back out to you later. Some taxi's use these guys and then just tax on the other $75-90 dollars to you for mailing...... They have a site with a lot of info...... Save yourself some money for Coyote Shells!

What is a fur buyer giving for a coyote? just an average. I hear the dnr is talking about putting a bounty on them.

$10 absolute tops...most only go for $5, if they are rubbed they won't give you anything, and some fur buyers won't even buy them no matter what they look like. I am speaking for whole animals. If they are skinned then they are worth at least double that.

If anyone gets some dogs and doesn't want anything to do with them, I would gladly take them off your hands for their skulls. I live in Wadsworth and would be willing to travel up to 30 miles to get them... Just shoot me a PM. Good luck all.

Cousin and I went out last night. First set we got one howling but never did come in. 2nd set we called with a locator and heard some howling over one country block. I had another piece of property over that way. So we went there and setup. His some howls and nothing. Then hit some distress calls. Waited a few minutes and did some scanning with the light I mounted over my rifle, sure enough, two yotes locked up about 250 yards out. I hit the distress again and they moved left to right, i'm assuming trying to get downwind of us. Never did see them again.

I think I may have started another addiction....
