Maybe if they stop asking everyone with a medical degree for their “opinions“ we wouldn’t have some of the problems we have…. On Monday this week I felt like a million dollars. superb day at work despite having to endure the heat and work on a hot roof for a couple of hours. repeat on Tuesday, but the heat did wear me down a little. only a half day on Wednesday to finish the job and I woke up with a weird severe ache in my lower back(just like when I had Covid in Feb. 2020). really bothered me all day as the Advil barely made a dent. very tired(just like when I had Covid back in Feb 2020 and in January 2021) and back and hips aching badly by the end of the day. barely significant amount of chest congestion Thursday and Friday(just like when I had Covid back in Feb 2020 and January of 2021).got rained out, so did nothing Thursday and felt tired and generally not very good. I barely slept Thurday night because my back and hips were killing me. Felt like total crap yesterday afternoon, but I did see my Doctor about BP and Colonoscopy results in the morning. they took my temp and it was fine. It never occurred to me until Nancy started feeling bad yesterday afternoon what this might be. I slept well last night and I feel great today. Nancy feeling bad for two days. asleep now. something had a hold of me for a few days, but I can't be sure what this time. Delta maybe? summer cold? no problems with smell or taste this time.

So basically he gets a cold every 8 months or so. I remember a while back the data showed that 40% of people have zero symptoms. And the overwhelming majority remaining have cold and flu like symptoms.

See It's BS reporting like this that causes issues. What they want your mind to believe when reading this is "if you're vaccinated, you only have a 0.8% chance of having a breakthrough infection. Super rare right." The problem is they're comparing the total number vaccinated against the detected breakthrough cases. There's a massive statistical problem with that and it's that they can't show that every vaccinated person was equally exposed and had the ability to become infected. A true data point would be the total number who tested positive then show how many were vaccinated and unvaccinated for a smaller geographic area that takes into account percentages of vaxed vs nonvaxed

@Jackalope I ask about the CDC references you post because it seems they have also been critiqued about their reversals on statements. So can we use a post referencing their guidance after we have shown where they have been less than upfront?
Point being: if you can't trust the WHO or CDC, then which sources are truly credible? Brings me back to the entire issue of transparency and lack of trust in pretty much everything we read.

They for sure have a credibility issue. That's probably why there was a huge outcry to see the data after their latest mask reversal statement. What they say and what the data says are sometimes two different things. In this case they backed their statements with case study data and even showed how the data was collected. I don't trust their opinion as far as I can throw them, but I trust the data when they can show how it's gathered.
