Chasing phase is in full swing in Athens...especially for the young bucks. It's like the Indy 500!
I drove 75 from perrysburg to almost Dayton before it got dark. Lots of deer out and about, most were bucks moving. Seen 3 mature bucks out in daylight. (3.5+ gauging from 70 mph)

Maybe I just missed but but I think we’re still a couple days away in central Ohio.
It would be a great week to let a deer hang in the garage...

Glad to hear that things in athens are picking up. It’s been dead the last couple weeks for me. Guess I gotta haul the hunting stuff back down to school. Whata bummer
I had a rut like this four years ago or so with standing corn everywhere. Most years in prime time I could find 3 pairs locked down everyday in the wide open. They r buried or using edges of standing corn fields around me. It is unreal how much sign is in the corn. It's going on here for sure, but I'm guessing I'll find bucks crushing again soon I'm guessing it's peaked here in the north. We shall see.
Updates? I just worked 48 hours through the snow cover, to come home to all melted. I’ve never hunted rut ish time of year in snow. Good luck y’all

I drove from SW Ohio to SE Ohio yesterday morning and didn’t see much. Fixing to make the drive back. I will report back.

Nothing seen on the drive back. Couple of roadkills, but nothing out of the norm.
Ran up town to grab some lunch. One picked bean field had 6-8 out feeding. This was 11am. Nothing else seen.
Yesterday saw a buck chasing a doe in Ashland cty off SR60 and another chasing a doe on SR53 south of mccutchenville
