One hen pretty close that's irritated by my presence. Nothing else so far. After I set up, I realized I'm dumb and can't see at all into the field cuz of the little dip I'm in. And now I can't really move [emoji2357] I'm smart....
Woke up, poured a cup of coffee, let the dogs out and standing on the deck taking all the sun in..... Along with turkeys gobbling down below me..... Stay dry, my friends....
At the end of 2 weeks and hunting all but 3 days Austin’s itchy trigger finger finally got the best of him. Been a fun season for me getting to spend more time with him then I would have if it weren't for this Covid. Shot him in the pouring rain, like Brock says, “ don’t make for good pictures.
Nothing for Addy and I today. We were setup before 0530 and only heard 2 very distant gobblers from the roost, nothing close at all. It was a perfect calm morning too. I think she will take a few days off and ill go scouting and see if i can find her one.
Had a real nice tom come in this morning. He strutted and spun around for over an hour in front of me at 40 yards. Problem was the one thicket of jagger bushed between us. He just wouldn't move from behind it and close the distance on the decoy. He stayed 20 yards from the decoy and just wouldn't budge. If he would've popped out just one time I could've flung an arrow at him.
The wind just kept spinning the decoy in circles. He probably thought "WTF is wrong with this crazy girl"?
We had a similar morning as Mike! 35 yards and wigged out from my strutter deke! Must be subordinate birds! Talked sass with the local hen and they went apeshit! Love to hear them gobble!
Taking the trash out, threw the trash cans in the bed of the truck. Leave the house going down the driveway. Out pops a hen turkey running in front of the truck. Got up too 10mph and then she’d had enough and took off flying.
Today is one of the few days I didn’t hear a turkey while letting the dogs out at daybreak.....
