Brock/Mason 2021/22

Townzen and I are set up. I had him move two stands this afternoon. Mason and I observed this place last night from up the hill. We are where we need to be. I hope the deer move with these warm temps! We did get cell pics after setting the stands. That cam is 150 yards from us so I think we were sneaky enough.

No mess was made. Very close though. Saw a good one. No shots fired. I did check a cam I had on the trail where I got really close on the first night. He’s not a ten as I thought. I didn’t see the G2s, but I’m 100% this is him. I described the configuration of the rack perfectly to Mason aside from the obvious oversight.

Good luck Brock and mason ! I use to shed hunt over that way. Started running into a bunch of other guys so I stopped. Use to be a deer mecca, I figured it went down hill since they opened it to hunting. Appears there is still a good number there though.

The weather along with the fact I’m about out of time on this hunt dictates I make the trip in the morning. I’m as excited as I get right now. Gonna be cold with a perfect wind for the stand I’m heading to. I’m almost tempted to take a wheeled bow to extend my range for this last hunt, but I’m not gonna do it. If it’s meant to be, I’ll get the shot I need, or I won’t and I’ll come home happy to have had the chance to hunt. Townzen doesn’t think he will be able to hunt again before we run out of time ( Saturday), so I may try to pull out gear on the way out to save us another trip. Hate to close up shop, but our time allotment ends Saturday. Bummer!
