Today was the most consistent I have shot the new 45lb limbs on China Snake. Cold shot from 30:
Lots and lots of hunting range (12-18) shots in that black hole.
I had one clunker, and even that clunker was just slightly back and high, liver-ish.

I didn't shoot on Saturday, we were out of town. Yesterday's cold arrow, pretty acceptable.
Speaking of out of town Saturday, little man got his first bow.
He couldn't wait to get home and try it out, so that's exactly what we did last night.
Tonight I'm going to blow up some balloons for him to try to pop after dinner.

I wasn't 100% sure the new limbs got here in time for me to start the season with the Black Hunter longbow, but I'm gaining confidence in them quickly. Yesterday's cold arrow was good, again.
Cold arrow from 9-15-21, on the upper end of where I wanted it but it would certainly do the job. 20ish yards.

I’ve been sick as a dog all week. Tested negative for Covid yesterday but was pretty sure I was going to die all week. I just went outside for a few minutes to feed the animals and while I was out I figured I had the strength to shoot one group of four arrows. Having not shot all week, it was a great test of my “new” technique. Here are the four arrows I shot from 25 yards. Good enough for me.

shooting from the deck now, down about 16 feet. the close target is about 15 yards, the far one is a long 20. the "cold" shot is probably the best one of the bunch, and is a broadhead. it's the low one sticking out at an odd angle above the front leg. the next 11 ok, too. feels good to be shooting decent again. that is as good a group of 12 arrows that I've shot from an elevated position in a long time.

it's crunch time, so every practice session is more meaningful now, to me, anyway.
It is really something how much physical fatigue from my work affects my ability to shoot a bow. I have not touched a painting tool since last Tuesday, and did not have to work real hard since a week ago Friday. My body has gotten some much needed rest in the last week, and it has made a huge difference in my shooting. I can actually execute a shot from start to finish, over and over again without feeling weak or tired. when my back, shoulders and arms are well rested, I shoot a whole lot better. been fighting this fight for about 10 years now, and expect I will be until I quit painting houses for a living. dropping down in weight has helped considerably, and as long as I shoot a little bit pretty frequently, I think I can keep improving. and when my arms and back are just plain spent, I refrain from shooting. is hard to do, but it is best for me to not shoot much when I'm tired.
