TOO bad, we will have Boykin pups ready for Christmas. You could have had a duck, upland, shed, turkey, squirrel, deer tracking and lap dog all built into one dog. My first Boykin Jazz used to tree coons and squirrels in the yard. There are even some that have been trained to find box turtles for research. But, enjoy your rat...

Mom and all 12 pups are doing well. Our little girl that was 4.5 oz at birth has turned the corner and is gaining on her own now! She was 9.7 oz this morning. We have been supplemental tube feeding her up until Thursday. Eyes are open and they are getting around the box.

You know what they say about a man w big thumbs?

Wears big gloves [emoji23]

Same with big feet?

I did notice in a post the other day that someone who had shot a doe had short, fat fingers? No names, but I am guessing he may think he is more endowed than he actually is? He didn't have to look for a woman with small hands to make him feel good about himself. Just saying ...

When we bred Skye, we figured she would have a normal litter, 5-7 pups. No big deal right?

When she finished up with 12, Kristi and I both looked at each other and said now what? How are we going to sell 11 puppies? (we are keeping one). So I called Skye's breeder (Nancy Boykin of Hunters Rest Kennels) who had recommended the cross and asked for help. Long story short, we have one male puppy left to sell! There are pups going to Oregon, Minnesota, Alabama, Tennessee (2), North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Arkansas and Ohio (2).

That’s great man. Definitely a relief! It’s apparently a great time to be selling puppies. We had Betty’s all sold before they ever hit the ground, and had 4-5 other people contact me immediately afterwards. I’ve had people ask if any were left seemingly multiple times a week ever since. It’s a good problem to have!

The kids turned 6-weeks old yesterday and they are growing like weeds. Full of piss (literally) and vinegar. This weather and moving them out to my garage has been a God-send. But their messes still make me pull my hair out at times. I’m going to miss them, yet at the same time I’ll be glad to see them go.

This week we’re sending them to their homes. Down to the last 4 now, and one more male leaving tomorrow morning. I wish I could say I’m going to miss them. Lol. I enjoy them, don’t get me wrong. I’m looking forward to seeing them develop and make their new owners very happy. But I’m completely over cleaning up after them and keeping them all alive. They gots ta go!

We are keeping the remaining black female and so far I really like the signs she’s giving me. Granted, females mature a little faster than males, but she seems to be the smartest pup out of the bunch. And she’s a pistol just like her momma... precisely what I was looking for. She has been the only pup to figure out how to escape the pen. Yet she only leaves when I go out there to them. One night she actually left the pen, pissed and shit on my garage floor, and then returned to the pen with her siblings. She’s sharp I tell ya.
