Come on Hank, fight buddy. This happened with tanner a couple of years ago. He got into something that basically put him into a diabetic shock. Took him in and they gave him a shot, all was good. I hope it’s as simple as that.

Hopefully it was something with a simple explanation, Phil. Maybe the stomach started to twist but remedied itself? Partial blockage? Regardless, hopefully he’s back too normal short....

Bristol sees the vets @12:30, she split her incision Sunday. Underlying stitches are still intact from the looks of it but want to make sure and make sure no infection sets in. She still acts like the over grown pup she is and no swelling or off colored discharge coming from it. So we’ll see what happens. Probably some antibiotics and keep her calm as possible. She hasn’t been licking it like I thought she would. So hopefully she doesn’t start that. It’ll be a week today since she was spayed.

Need to get into the vet to figure this out. The good news is we did make it thru the night. Hank seems to be feeling okay. We will see if he does any eating or drinking here shortly.

Last night I asked the vet why his nose was cold. Not just the tip. His nose was cold 4-5" from the nostrils. He said to check his ears and feet. Yep. They we're cold too. He said that was a sign of shock. This along with the labored breathing had me pretty nervous. Thanks for all the kind thoughts guys.

Damn, usually shock is attributed too trauma.

Yes. I think you are correct. I think there are different kinds of shock though. I mean if it was a quick onset issue (and this came on quick) I can see where the body goes into shock as a protective mechanism. Blood no longer hitting extremities in efforts to provide major organs with the blood supply first. Change in BP or heart rate? I'd have to look in my old EMT books or ask my wife.

We have a 1040 appointment. Still not eating although he took a couple nibbles of banana last night. Hasn't drank that I'm aware of. Bit sluggish this morning. Even so, a major improvement over last night. Clearly wasn't a turned stomach or I'd be warming up the backhoe right now to dig a hole in the frozen ground. I'm thinking kidney stone or something. Will let the vet determine what is going on. Just crazy how quickly he went downhill and once he started to pee he started coming back around. He peed like a drunken sailor last night. Like a racehorse and very frequent.

I get sad when I read some of the posts on here so I had to post this to bring a smile to those who need it. 😊

A little bit of glue and she’s back too normal. Vet said nothing too worry about. Just try too keep her from diving off of things 😂
Hopefully she’ll be calm thru next Monday when we can start back too getting her working out with walks and training.... She’s been a coiled spring ever since the surgery.

Good update J.

Blood work was good. Vet couldn't find an issue. Could only speculate. Possibly had a stomach turn and then turn back on its own. Possibly ate something which upset his stomach, gorged himself on water, and couldn't empty fast enough. I don't know. I do know he is slowly getting back to himself. Been eating and drinking today a bit more as the day progresses. Getting more and more perky as the hours go on. Hopefully we don't see any surprises.

First picture is Max my first ever hound dog #130 at that. He was rescued from a pound at age 2 and was described as being a mouthy dog. Mouthy means he will grab you by the hand and lead you where he wants to go!😁 He was by far the greatest dog I ever had. He made it 11 years before his hips and eyes failed him but fortunately in his years he trained up for me my other hound dog thats in the picture, Bob.
Bob is a character to say the least, he was rescued from a property of 30 other dogs that would run the woods chasing deer. Unfortunately but understandbly all but 2 of his relatives are dead now. Both my boys are as loyal as they come especially to my kids. One loud voice and Bob will get as close to them as he can and don't dare getting past, I know I've tried for fun. Loyalty to me goes out the window when there involved, first he'll grab you with his wrestler like paws, keep moving and his teeth will rest on your leg, keep moving and you will get bit at least once, game over I give! Bob is now 5 and sadly his hips are starting to give a little trouble
