Spent a little time in the woods at Strouds this weekend more to test run my new mobile setup than hunt, but I did get to see a couple deer and could have killed one, so that was a moral victory. I've been looking for the right opportunity to take my daughter out for the first time on an actual hunt, so this evening I'm take her and the wife to sit in my blind behind my parents. It's a little warm, so that works great for keeping them comfortable. I have a perfect wind and it's a spot I'm not looking to hunt much in the coming weeks, so why not?
I've been watching the weather closely since this weekend marks the start of my serious hunting. Saturday is going to be warm, but mostly cloudy, so that will help. If it stays cloudy, I will make my first trip to the farm to hunt. If it gets sunny, I'm going to hold off until Sunday morning. Either way, looking forward I see a nice drop in temps that gets me excited about hunting out there. I have some cam moves to make to try and pinpoint which ridge DD is bedding on. Hopefully I'll get some valuable intel that will help narrow down my search for him. Things are looking up and I'm ready to get serious. The is the least amount I have ever hunted up to this point in a season and it's been a calculated decision. I hope my patience is rewarded!
