have had a pretty damn good season going on so far, savannah has became quite the little hunter passing on some spikes and does. but i have realized i cant talk her out of shooting the next one by, even tho we did have a good 10 come in and just as i flipped the saftey off he jumped the creek and wenty up the hill. then a spike came back in and she wanted to shoot it so bad she couldnt stand it. later she told me dad i dont care if its got big horns or not i just want to shoot a deer. i just smiled and told her the next one that comes by is all hers. sometimes i get way to caught up in the game of inches and shooting a big deer that i forget what its all about. ive only carried my bow twice so far this season and dont plan on hunting much myself til she puts one on the ground. on another note my buddy shot the wide 9 he was after ill post pics of it here soon.

I'll get caught up here. Last friday we were super close to putting a good buck on the ground savannah just couldn't make him out thru the scope because it was just to dark in the woods. Saturday after work we went to a spot I had glassed a couple good bucks a few nights before moved the ladder stand and my brother got up in it I walked to the other end of the farm and sat in the blind. Got a call about 630 that he shot a good buck. He made a good shot and the deer only made it 80 yards. Yesterday evening me and savannah went to a corn field that just got picked saturday and climbed in the blind. 3 does walked right to us and a pretty crazy turn of events ended up with us doubling. She is pretty freaking awesome. 7 years old and has shot 3 deer now. Now it's time to put a buck on the ground.

Kentucky was fun. Didn't see any shooters but I'm headed back down for rifle in a few. Got some new bucks showing up around here. I'm hoping I can get a buck in front of savannah this week. Then I can really concentrate on the rut for myself.

Let's get this updated a little. Saturday nov second was on fire. My dad and a buddy from Tennessee both shot bucks and the other guy from Tennessee missed a buck twice that night. We thought it was gonna be on fire the rest of the week but we were wrong. My uncle came up from georgia on the 7th and I put him in a stand I hadn't hunted yet and he connected on what he thought was just an 8 point turned out to have 16 points. We still seen a few good bucks but we had to hunt hard. My buddy eric had nothing but bad luck. And we both ended up missing a buck we stalked laying in a big drainage ditch with a doe. Crawled in the water and mud for 200 yards to have the doe stand up and him run right by us. When I pulled up to shoot I was filling my tag out before the release went off and somehow I missed. Not sure how but i think the tall crp knocked it down. Hes the biggest deer I've had a shot on in years. Prolly 150 9 point. But overall it's always fun. Me and savannah making plans for this weekend and youth season next weekend. Hope we can get a buck to stop in front of her. We have been so close just cant make it happen.

Well tonight was a night I'll never forget. Savannah got her first buck. I moved a blind and cell cam to this spot sunday. Tonight we got in the blind at 430 after work. By 5 we had deer in the field and this guy came in just before last light and she made a great shot. He went 70 yards and piled up. My deer and hers were shot within 100 yards of each other.
