Round 2 was a beatdown tonight. We found an active pocket of really nice fish and whacked 18 in the last hour to finish up. Back at it again tomorrow morning.
30 fish limit today by 1pm. Found some good ones 11 miles out around 1130am and finished our last 16 fish in 1 hour. Did alot of searching but we got it done 4th trip in a row this weekend with a boat limit.
Walleye are still in close in the western basin. Pulled a 5 man limit Saturday in 15 to 17 fow. The perch are also biting good now so its time to combo up or switch over to Perch. We also caught a good size largemouth out there which I've never done before in all my trips on this lake. Caught plenty of them in the channels around the docks but never got one 2 miles offshore.
Was out last weekend (first time since 2010 since my Captain died). Went out with the new neighbor off 72nd. Got 13 Eye’s, 4 shorts, and a 10.13 28.5” sheephead. I reeled in a 12” white perch. Fun discovery and Remnants of old times. I did remember channel 68....that was fun.
Its been a long time since I've updated. We have been perch fishing mostly for the last month. Its been hit or miss. The heat 2 weeks ago really slowed them down. Now the water temps are starting to cool off and the bite is picking back up. Perch are averaging over 9 inches this year with alot of 10 to 11 inch plus size fish.
Finally had an epic perch fishing day on the big lake. We had 120 fish with the average fish being almost 10 inches. One of the best quality days I've ever had. We had 20 fish between 11 and 12 inches.
