Just made a major upgrade to my boat electronics. Last week I added a Lowrance HDS 12 Live unit to my arsenal. This is the latest and greatest in boat electronics. It includes 4 options in sonar, including medium and high chirp sonar, side imaging, down scan, a 12 inch touch screen that is capable of up to 6 different screens visible at 1 time, genesis live real time mapping that can create very detailed topographic maps to within 6 inches of elevation. Also has capability to connect the live scope transducer to the unit and watch fish react to your baits in real time. Looking forward to seeing how the newest technology can make fishing even better on this great lake. I will also continue to utilize my HDS 7 unit that is already on the boat.

The crappie tournament guys seem to be completely lost if they don’t have a live scope these days. It will be interesting to see if it applicable while trolling. I could see it being a lot of fun during the jig bite!

Seen some videos of the livescope and it looks really cool especially in shallower water for bass, crappie, etc. Doesn't seem like it is as effective of a tool when fishing deep or when moving. Be interested to see how you like it.
Can you zoom to the bottom with a live scope transducer? I imagine it would be a lot of fun using it with a hot perch bite.
Yes. The downscan option will also be very good for doing this as you can easily differentiate the difference between fish versus weeds, rocks etc.
Walleye limit will be ten before two long. Last fall when the dnr ran there test netting they were getting crazy numbers at each location. If I remember correctly I think they said the fry from the spring spawn were already in the five to six inch range.
I dont believe that will happen. Also, with the large number of fish already in the system they will be feeding heavily on the young walleye fry from last year. We have a good thing going right now. No need to pull a Biden and fuck it all up.

Yeah, you guys did that the last time fuel prices went up. Then when it went back down, the prices stayed the same.
You guys as in businesses that run on fuel. Not you personally or the charters. Just a product of what happened with high fuel prices. I get your stance. Just making a point as to another reason I hate it when fuel prices jump. Even after they go back down, the consumers are stuck with the problems it created.

Same could be said for everything else we need to operate. Theres a lot more to operate a charter boat than just fuel! Insurance, equipment, routine maintenance, safety equipment, upgrades in equipment, license plates and tags, guide license, boat payments for those that don't already own their boat...Etc. The list goes on and on. I need to make 11,000 dollars just to break even before I can start putting a dollar in my savings account. Tell me again why I shouldn't raise my rates?
