Don't burn as much fuel for perch. But the marinas like to raise the price of minnows because of fuel prices. So you might be right.

Got out yesterday for some fishing. Caught a few trolling. Some guys are starting to catch fish jigging now finally. I have a few dates open this month for the jig bite if anyone is interested.

Windy day today with alot of rain mixed in. We tried jigging but the wind was too much. Had 3 bags out and still couldn't go slow enough to jig effectively. So we went searching for stained water and finally found the fish in 20 to 22 fow and whacked some really nice fish. Leads were 45 to 65 back and 1.5 to 1.7 mph were the best speeds. We caught fish on 15 different colored bandits today. No particular color was best. Yellows seemed to dominate most. All fish were females and half were already spawned out. Back at it again tomorrow with same crew.

How are the new electronics working out? Forgive me as I am not real into fishing. So in my layman's terms: your new and fancy fish finder?

Had same group of guys today as yesterday and we had a beautiful day on the water. Started out jigging on a flat calm lake. We got 6 keepers and then headed to the trolling area from yesterday after the wind completely died and we couldn't get a drift. We set up where we fished yesterday and started catching fish within 5 minutes. Ended up with 36 fish for the day and a cooler that was over 150 lbs! 5 of our first 6 fish were 27 to 29 inches.

Here are a few pics.

Had a great bite today best of the year so far. Limited out well before noon. These walleyes are averaging 4 to 5 lbs right now. Amazing fishery! We had several doubles and a triple today. Unfortunately the weather is about to turn to crap for the next 4 to 5 days and I had to cancel trips for Monday and Tuesday already.

Have group from Minnesota today and tomorrow. Today we had to delay 3 hours due to winds. Got out around 10 and fished til 4. Managed 13 on our first pass and lost 4. Made another pass and wind changed direction and picked up and temperature dropped. Only got 3 more after that. Ended day with 16 real nice fish. Back at it tomorrow. Supposed to be a much warmer day. Should be good.
