I just bought an old winchester .22 pump action for that same reason…all of todays pump actions are very cumbersome and heavy. Those old winchesters are light and fit into your hands easily.Still a fat bitch. I don't know why these manufactures continue to make these rifles with chunky ass stock and forearm. They brag about fit and finish but the stock and forearm looks like a first time builder made it in the garage with a band-saw and a belt sander. Look at the difference in how slim and sleek the original looks compared to the lard ass new models.
