Live from Louisiana

Well we quit deer hunting last week. Buck never showed back up…..I guess he gets another year.

I hunted near the house w a couple young men and we killed 8 woodrows, 1 short of the limit. Plan on going again in the morning for the last hoorah.

It doesn't matter what the weather or any other conditions you guys encounter. You simply make it happen one way or another. Pretty cool to watch it all unfold from a place that doesn't supply like that. We have the lake Erie region that is close, but the diversity you guys have is awesome. You boys sure take full advantage of it TOO!

Well it’s been Mardi Gras season, the st Patrick’s day parade this past Sunday. Weather has been shit every weekend for me. Weather was in the 20’s couple weekends ago. This weekend I’m headed to north Mississippi to get Pearls last finished pass where if she passes one of the two test will earn her title. For the record we haven’t training since the beginning of Covid.
As for outdoor activities, Hunter has been fishing here and there. Grass cutting season is here and that’s what keeps him somewhat busy. DJ working at the FD and going crabbing when he can. I only have weekends off.
Things to look forward to is crawfish should start running (don’t even know if I will try) and specks and reds should be heating up if weather straightens out. Work has kept me busy and w these fuel prices I probably won’t even try to kill a Turkey.
The good news is I’m less than a year out from retiring here and will most likely only be semi retired from here on out. My life will consist of traveling w the wife, a lot more fishing and plenty of hunting. I really won’t know exactly till I officially retire and figure out how to reinvent a new life, if that makes sense.
I visit this site but really don’t have much to share as my life consist of an ass kicking contest and I only have one leg at the moment 😂

Well we made it to Grenada Mississippi. Out here for dog field trials. Boats all in the hotel as they have the crappie masters this weekend. Just seen on fb where they caught a few 4#’s.
Haven’t really trained w Pearl since March of 2020. Hoping to steal a ribbon and get a pass. Wish us luck.
