Congrats all that got it done today!

This morning I saw a decent amount of deer. Passed a 10 ya chip shot with the recurve on a decent 8 that I’ll probably regret.

Sometime from getting down at 10 and heading back out at 2 I lost my 3 finger tab so that’s great. Realized that about 3/4 of the way in to my hang and hunt for the evening. Had first real rutting action happen when a buck chased a doe and they almost ran me over on the way to stand. I had to hunker down and glue myself to a tree to not spook them. Doe came by while I was on ground about 5-8 yds away and the buck stayed just behind her. Never got a shot. Was quiet the rest of the evening when I was finally able to hang Stand after they took off again. Back at it tomorrow.

Just got home. Wow what a day. Got to see alot of actions today. Seen a big mature buck at 60 yards but he verged to the right away from me. So I grunted at him, he stopped and looked to my way. He thought about it then it was like "nah I'm too tired to fight. Then he walked off, I grunted at him again, then he looked back, then he was like "nah, I dont feel like it. He walked off, then I grunted one last time it was as he was saying "Fugg off" . Lol that was a really big big buck. Anyway, got to see a young buck nose on the ground following the doe. One doe came out. Then 4 more doe came out and spread out. That was the best day of my life. I'm in the hot seat. Going back out tomorrow

I had a pretty good day considering how brutally cold the wind was today. I was locked and loaded behind my FIL’s place this morning before shooting light. Saw my first two deer at 7:30 about 100 yards out but 5 minutes later they were right under me. Just a big nanny and her small doe. 15 minutes later I heard several more deer approaching behind me and here comes a bb and another doe about same size. I think their mom is out gettin bred. Had plenty shots at all 4 and they filtered on into the bedding to my upwind side. 15 minutes later I hear snorting way back in there as they were 100 yards away or better. I wonder if someone else is hunting on the other side of that bedding area and got busted, DK but their scent would have been blowing into the area. Anywho, they came busting right back towards me and all 4 ran right under me and kept going. Things got quiet for an hour and a half so I slipped out around 9:45-10 as I had a certified letter at the PO to be picked up before noon and today was my only chance before it got sent back. Ate a late breakfast with my family and picked up letter and blew the leaves off driveway and porches then headed back out.
Went to farm I hunt a couple miles away and was locked and loaded at 1:15. Saw first deer(110ish 8) cruise through right under me at 2:30 and back through at 3:45. Got great video. Saw another buck which I thought was him again at 4:15 but his rack was wider and whiter. Got some video but not great footage. Then about 4:30 heard steps and see a small doe by herself come into view right in front of me at 25 yds and she bolted under me and beyond as if something was nudging her. Sure enough another buck(1.5 old) came on in which I videoed. They moved on past me and about 15 more minutes passed and another 1.5 comes on in following same path the doe took. Slipped out about 10 till 6 with the doe about 75 yards out into the beanfield. As Brock would say, all the fun without the mess.
Back at it again tomorrow 😎👍🏻
CONGRATULATIONS TO ADAM and BH91 on some beautiful deer!👍🏻👍🏻

Good luck to everyone hunting tomorrow!!!

Xbow. I'm too use shooting it from the ground and ad in they are coming in from an open field that I can't pre range. I'm going to have to start ranging the deer before I let it fly.

I need a range finder too. My crossbow shoots pretty flat so I just aim for then center of the vitals with the top crosshair and keep shots under 30 yards. If the deer is farther than I thought then the arrow should just hit a little lower. I’m not sure what you’re shooting but that’s worked for me.

I get in the stand I play range finder games. Guess the distance, then check it with the ranger. Soon you can name all distances in your open shooting lanes. Shooting from the ground and get a zero. From a treestand, you will hit about 2' higher than your aim. You will also get to where you can judge distance better with a naked eye.

Did you try a snort wheeze? If he stopped and looked back three times, the snort wheeze may have tripped his trigger. Just something to keep in mind if you run across him again tomorrow and he ignores your grunt again. Good luck!

I do the same thing. If they are in the woods I have every possible tree already ranged and yardage locked in memory. Problem with them being in that field is there isn't any distinctive feature I can use for range marker. It's a cut bean field so every little bean stalk looks just like the other million in that field lol. I only have 1 clump in that field I have ranged and of course it's at the other inside corner and not where those 2 bucks have been lol.

Next shot WILL find it's mark. I will slow myself down and range the damn deer before I send another arrow. If either of those bucks give me another chance in the morning it's taking a ride home.

I feel it today! Today is the day! Antlers will go down!!!

Everyone prep up your bows, prep em real hard
Cuz the deer run loose on the farm, and they hold all the cards
If you win, after antlers you will go
If you loose, squirrels are getting arrows!
