Mowed this AM. Fixed tree tubes and cages late AM. Set my mobile set up in a spot I've been wanting to try for years for rut action. Hopefully it all works out. Be out in the AM.

If you are not hunting in a tree stand, how windy is too windy.

Too windy for me, saying wind gusts up to 50mph here this evening.

I’ve never had much luck hunting in high winds. Any deer I did see were moving fast and acting skittish.

Never been a fan of hunting in high winds. Falling limbs, swaying trees... fuck that. Deer dont seem to want to move in it anyway.

Whelp, finally got my first hunt in today. Just hunted about 3 hours this morning behind my FIL place. Got lock and loaded about 7:20 and got out at 10:15, just too much stuff left to do. Saw 2 at 7:35(before shooting light) but could tell they weren’t antlered bucks and had 2 big does and 2 small ones come in around 9:45. Pretty nice hunt and it felt great to be back out. Taking Karissa out in morning.

Had a good hunt last night. Small buck came by twice and made a scrape and attacked a sapling. Right after sunset a borderline shooter 8 made a scrape at 20 yards and offered no shot. Glad he didn’t because really didn’t want the temptation this early.

When get in your stand good and early with no issues, then about 20 minutes later you can’t stop from having to cough and a dang 3 alarm blow goes off.

UGH!!!

Oh well just sit and see what happens at shooting light.

How about getting to the stand you need an extra climbing to at the bottom to get into when you forgot your extra climbing stick? Thank God for monkey arms. Bottom rung of second climbing stick is about 7-8' off ground. I'm in the stand. Lol. Good luck all!

Little buck at light, then Sammy doe. Just saw 2 raccoons walk by at 7:45, I hope they are rabid.

I did manage to avoid hitting a Momma with twins driving here. Thought it was a good sign they'd be moving. Nothing yet except a coon. All good. Beautiful crisp morning. I'm thankful.
