I don't what the heck is going on, but I just had my second encounter with a nice 8 pt buck.

Once with a trail camera and now with my phone, I lost the video footage for this particular buck, all with the last three days.

He's a good looking buck, just not the one I'm looking for.

I'll be damn, my phone rebooted while I was recording him while underneath me.

Now my phone has a temporary video file on the drive that I can't view with the phone for some reason.

This is the second time this has happened to me while trying to record a deer encounter with my phone this season.

I'll see if I can recover the file when I get home later.

Might be time for a new phone.

I have new phone batteries for it.

Oh-well.

2nd buck encounter just moments ago.

I really hate busting deer out on the walk in but it really fkin stings when you’re in ninja mode and make it all the way to the base of your tree before they bust out..SMH!
This happened to me Saturday morning. Camera said "It was one of the 3 I was waiting on" Disheartening to hear one blowing you only hear or seen eyes of!

Forgot to update yesterday...
found a fresh scrape by a stand I’ve only hunted once this season. Doctored it up on the way in. 30 minutes later a decent up and comer visited it and tire it all up. He then walked right past me and made another scrape.

Later a 4 point snuck through the thicket.

That was yesterday evening.

At work now[emoji2959]

Back in my Eastern Stand for the afternoon until 2:30 :)

On the way here, I stopped and chatted with my neighbor, trying to get good deer info.

He worth the time to do so, trust me on that.

He's great great guy that lives by himself for years now. Lost his wife a while back to cancer . He gave up some good intel on the deer activity around his place and he's allowing me to hike through the backside of his field to get to my furthest stand from my home. Saves me about 5 minutes in the hike and one less big hill to climb(y)

I also just finished up viewing my trailcam data from this location and let me tell, it's nothing but bucks on it.

I have one hellava brute, a half rack on there that I'm very familiar with from over the course of three years of getting him on camera and only one encounter last season.

I'll share it later for you guys.

The wind shifted a little currently. It's now from the SW, which works pretty good here.

We'll see what happens here for the next two hours.

Hope the rest of you are having a great time out there today :)

Slow today so far. Didn't see anything this morning and I made a move to a new spot a few hundred yards away at about 10:45. Sitting here hoping for a midday cruiser. Found a really good spot... Nice bench just off the top of a ridge top that connects to private property and 4 main trails come together. I've got high hopes for this spot and I'll probably sit here the remainder of the week. Fingers crossed.

So bummed...Drew stuck our #1 square in the shoulder. Came in chasing a doe and went right under Drew, 15 ft away!! He started to chase again and I grunted slowing him down and then I snort wheezed and he stopped broadside wide open at 20 yds, perfect. Followed blood for 200 plus yds. Found arrow about 40 yds from impact. Only slick trick and 3" missing. Poor kid is devastated and I want to puke!
