Didn’t see my first deer on farm till 4:20 which was a nice 2.5-3.5 old buck. I had him checking out a doctored up scrape before daylight on my camera not 80 yards from where I saw him. At 4:45 I saw a doe and little one step out into the beans to feed on up the hill and disappear around a treeline. Seconds later I catch movement heading in their direction and saw a big bodied deer and grabbed my binoculars. It was the big 9, a buck I had an encounter with in the same exact spot from same stand a few weeks ago. As he approached his scrape and gap where the two deer walked through I managed to get his attention with my grunt tube while getting some video. He stepped into the far block of timber as darkness quickly showed up.
It was a long cold sit today but the last hour is what keeps me going.

I’d share the videos but PB isn’t cooperating.
This is a still image of the buck I saw at 4:20 last night checking scrape yesterday morning . He’s 4.5 imo as I think I’ve gotten pics of him last several years and he also hasn’t grown much in his antlers either. I have 4 bucks that run on this farm from time to time that are all 4.5 and all lack great genes. I’d still be happy to put either on the ground if given the chance. The time is one hour off as it’s really 6:18am

Hard to believe, but this was the slowest day in about month.

I only seen three antlerless deer all day and that was in the next field over within the last 30 minutes of hunting.

I blame the moon cycle, which allows the deer to be more active at night and then sleep during the entire day imho.

I'm gonna be chillin for the next day with family, then I'll be back at it on Friday.

Everyone have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Eat plenty!!!

Happy Thanksgiving 'TOO'ville!

First off let me apologize for any grammar mistakes as I am using speak to text on my phone because I'm too lazy in my hands are frozen. The action is definitely back on here in my area of Wayne County. We were on lockdown for what seems like a week until today, there was a Fork Buck bedding a doe off the road in our Woods I tried to look for more antlers but he is all I saw. I Circle the farm and saw a doe being chased by a buck Midfield. He ran into a strip of pine trees here at the local tree Farm. Once she went in he doubled back and headed back into our Woods. I knew he was a buck by his body but he was five hundred yards away so I couldn't see how big. I flank them and sat on a creek bottom where I knew he entered. I laid off a few bleats once I was in and he popped right out. He wasn't the giant I thought it was only a little basket. Then a button came in right before last Light on my estrous rack I dragged in. I'm going to sit tomorrow morning for Thanksgiving Day luck. My spirits are back up after seeing some activity cuz it seemed dead for a while. I've never hunted this hard my life my spirits are worn but I know the only way to get the Giants to keep striving. I fell into the creek by the way. Good night.
