Been pourin since 3:45 and hasn't stopped yet. Weather man says that its supposed to quit here @6 for an hour or two. It's starting to get a little foggy too.
Seen one decent buck way out into the CRP field due West/my left, heading South @3:50. That's all the deer I've seen so far.
I'll tell ya, these tree umbrellas are worth their weight in gold cause I'm bone dry including everything else except my bow. I didn't bring any other rain gear with me, just the umbrella.

Every time I'm in the stand and it starts raining I wonder if they make an umbrella for trees. Now I know to go buy one before I forget!
The umbrellas are well worth the $15-$20 they cost. I keep one in my pack just in case.
Zero chance I would’ve wanted to track a deer this evening. Hunting I’m these conditions just isn’t worth it.
That is the downfall if the rain continues, makes you reluctant to shoot or at least take a shot at something in a questionable position. Absolute best time to be in the woods though is minutes after it quits raining.
All this rain that's ready to let loose again gives me the opportunity to stay in bed longer for a change. Yet here I am,wide awake. Looks like a long soaker. We need it though. Tomorrow changes everything !
yes, tomorrow is going to be a big day. all of the permanent scrapes that I'm aware of on my place have been opened now. rubs showing up daily. this cold will get them fired up, methinks. yesterday morning I had a nice buck come by dogging a doe pretty hard and grunting. had another decent 8 come through clearly in search mode. I got to sleep in today, too. up at 5:20.

The rain is about out of here for me. The wind did an almost 180. Supposed to have northeast winds all day switch after dark but it's west southwest now. Something to think about maybe for u guys to the east that are hunting tonight.
Rain will get worse as the evening goes on here in the Far East. Then a wind advisory from 5pm today to 10am tomorrow.
Im hoping to be in my blind. Trying to skate out of work a few hours early. We shall see how well that works.
This weekend looks to be PERFECT. Something good should hit the dirt on here!
Yeah already half day off work tomorrow then heading to the wood .

Leaving at 4:00am in the morning headed for Ohio. Should be at the motel by 1:30 (after an hour stop at cabelas in wheeling). Saturday prep then hunting starts Sunday. Can’t wait!
