LIVE from the stand 2020-21

The blooper reel continues for me. Walked in to a buck cruising next to my stand. Bow was on sling. He grunted at me and moved on.
Me too my friend. Got settled. Sweaty walking in even though I was barely dressed. Forgot this stand doesn't have a harness attachment and had to make one. Dropped my coat out of the stand and now the wind can't decide which way it wants to go. [emoji2357]

Back in for the day. Hoping for a big cruising newcomer to show up any day now. This is the area they usually make first entry to the property. It's beautiful out and the wind is absolutely perfect for me.

Good luck this evening fellas!

Saw 4 bucks, doe and small one that ran around in huge circles around me within the 5.5 acres I was on. First buck was year and a half 4-6 pt cruising through that bumped mom and young one at 7:40ish. The meandered away then I spotted nice young up and comer walking up towards FIL’s backyard where buck decoy stood just 18-20 yards from his back deck. Looked to be 120ish 8 pt with very light colored tall rack. He postured around deke for about 3 minutes with small spike or forky looking on about 30 yards from him. I’m 70 yards away from all of this. Sooooo, before he rammed the deke I grabbed my grunt tube and hit it twice to get his attention. They both looked my way and started making their way in my direction. I sized him up better with Xbow in hand then decided I’d just take a few pics as he walked on past me at 20 yards. Had another small buck come through around 9:40 and he was just cruising. Clearly the bucks are in the seek and chase phase in my area right now. Heading back out now to hunt till dark. Good luck everyone!

Here’s zoomed in pics of nice up and comer.

Great buck!

I have a blooper reel going too. Dropped wallet. Everything fell out. Retrieved it. Climbed back up. Brought doe tarsals out of freezer. Cutting hole in one to hang it. Sliced finger wide open. Wrapped it up tight. Holding above heart with pressure the last hour. I think it stopped bleeding now. Just had two dogs RN thru with collars. One had a shirt.

No deer yet. Maybe the blood I dripped on the tarsals will be the magic ticket as it thaws out.

Setttled in here on a small chunk of private. Haven’t been in here at all this entire season. Good travel corridor, mature oaks outnumber every other tree 3:1 I’d bet. Lots of tracks but didn’t see any rubs or scrapes walking in. Did a scent drag from the field edge to my stand. Wind is swirling and it the best but ya gotta be out on Halloween. Fingers crossed, good luck everyone.

Sorry Phil but “the one had a shirt” line made me chuckle. Thanks😂👍🏻
