Well, after hunting 13 of the last 14 days...most all have been all day sits, I thought my body was conditioned to only take a dump in the mornings...I’d get up, take a dump, shower, get something to eat, coffee, take another dump, then I’m good all the way through the next morning. That streak ended today! It came up on me all of a sudden...defcon 5...I knew there was NO WAY I was making it the rest of the day, let alone the next hour. So I did what I knew was only a matter of time and made like a bear...yup, shat in the woods. Walked 200 yards to a spot the wind wouldn’t carry the scent toward where I’m hunting and covered it up with lots of leaves. Damn you Chef-boy-ardee!

Got on stand an hour early. Took a nap while the woods woke up. 6:45 slowly stood up too stretch. Looked around before standing. Nothing around, preceded too stand stretch and look around some with the binos. Yep, 4 doe came outta thicket and the biggest one was staring me down. I froze she started my way sniffing the whole time. Walked right up too my stand. Sniffing the whole time. Started relaxing some and the ones left behind were all nervous as well.
The lead doe went back the way she came but didn’t make it 10’ when my buddies feeder kicked in. Spun for 5 seconds and all hell broke loose.
Sat until 11:00 and didn’t see anything else. Grabbed a handful of trail mix and bit down and it was frozen. Yep cracked a tooth too boot.... Welcome too Friday the 13th 2020 edition..... SMDH

Sorry fellas for not following up last night, wife's birthday celebration yesterday don'tcha know.

Anyways,,,

Deer were up and moving early afternoon yesterday, from about 1:00 p.m. onward.

No antlers seen. Last two moring hunt's were a total bust. No deer seen anywhere. Damn hard frost! Apparently, our local deer would rather sleep in when it's like that.

Wind is out of the West curreny, steady in the single digits. Not ideal for the North ridge (back in my API climber again for the rest of the day), but if the deer movent continues trending the way it has been, coming from the N-NW the past two days, then I should have a nice crosswind as anything enters into my best shooting lane, such as this ole lady did yesterday at 1:20 p.m., right as I was making my way up my tree.

I ended up seeing a half dozen antlersless deer yesterday afternoon/evening. All within bow range. All of them left the area by 4:50 p.m. Half headed NW and the other half headed North, leaving the area.

Cornfield to the NW about two clicks was being harvested yesterday afternoon across the road. That is where they were headed, no doubt.

No antlered deer seen yet for the past couple of days, but I am hopeful that'll happen relatively soon. Perhaps today, most definitely tomorrow for sure.

(Some of yesterday's deer action within bow range.)

Good luck to all you guys that are out hunting today!

I expect to hear some good reports from some of you later. Should be a great evening!

Did that on frozen Skittles 2 years ago. Limped along a while and just kept putting off visiting the dentist. Of course the tooth broke more just as we went on lock down back in March. Made it til July before I had to have it pulled.

I’ll get it looked at when I get home. Calling later for an appointment.

Got in the stand this morning. Piddly 8pt was bedded within 100 yards, got up and fed away. About 1030 the same 8 point was tearing through the woods chasing 2 does with another doe trotting behind the commotion. About 1145 a spike wandered through.

It's breezy and i forgot to pack gloves.

My plans got detoured. Made it about 3 miles from the house and spotted a huge bodied buck in the ditch. Made the call and it was hit 3 hours prior. Looked good still so I waited for the GW to show up and get my carcass tag. Took him out to a field edge and opened him up...this deer was toast. Nothing worth saving. Mustve been hit by a semi.

Hunting a stand with zero intel. No cameras. Haven't been here all year. So far I nudged a little one walking in. Then nudged two other little ones in another spot. Got settled in. Those two already meandered back thru. Sure doesnt seem like they were spooked bad. I'd say this year's fawns again. Momma dead to EHD. Been the year of the fawn.

Cracked one a week ago. Went to get it pulled yesterday. Doc busted it off and left the roots so I went to a surgeon and had them carved out today. Sore, but I thoroughly enjoyed the buzz after surgery.
