Just got in a new ladder we put up Saturday in the hurricane. We feel it’s going to be a good rut stand especially with any variation of a north wind. Not expecting much this eve right here but wanted to sit it once to make sure everything is right.

First zero of the season. Beautiful evening though.

OMG!.... What a night! 9 deer total... Had a 130? at 35 yds. Glenna coul c not get a shot.. ( He came out of nowhere). Then one popped over the hill about 200 yd from us that will go every bit of 160 started our way with another buck and then turned towards our right at dark.... so we needed to get going. I've gotten no pictures of that deer that I know of back there but he is a dandy!!!

Was looking for a Deere, but a Case showed up instead. Think I might buy my actual deer tag here soon. Slowly getting caught up on work. Your posts are killing me. I need to fill the freezer before snow season gets here and I think it is coming early. Thus the reason we are getting prepped.

Had 4 does and a small spike at 40yrds around 6:15pm in the swale. Around 6:45pm a bach. group of 6 with 2 shooters leading the pack came out of the N woods and worked smack dab across the middle of the bean fields to the other woods. Stopping for a bit in the swale then feeding across, around 120yrds out. They were moving tonight.

Put feed put on a spot yesterday afternoon. They have been in and made 2 scrapes within bow range since Tuesday. Hoping for a good morning tomorrow. We are a week away from muzzleloader week down here!

I’m really bummed I can’t take advantage and hunt this cold front. I’ve been sick as a dog for 3 days now, battling some sort of virus or infection. Oh well. It’ll just be getting good in a few weeks while I’m on rutcation.
