Zero deer while out all day. Saw a couple out in the cut bean field on my way too the house. Agree with Jesse on this hasn’t been a normal rut so far. But it can all change in a minute.

Little better pic to give a size comparison. Biggest doe I’ve ever shot. She was hot because had a buck working her when she was dead. Nice one at that. So I cut the glands and gonna try to get after him

Congratulations Michael! Good eatin buddy!

I had a long uneventful day up till about the last 30 minutes. I had two nice does come into check on the deke and just would not leave Wobbles till he put forth the effort to show them some attention. They both gave me oodles of tempting shots from 10 yards to 35 for 45 minutes even after shooting light was almost gone. They had me pinned up in this stand till 5:55 to where I would lose them at 15 yards in the open areas. Lol
They would snort at Wobbles then walk real close to him then bolt away for 25 yards then stand there looking back at Hims like, WTF?!?!? Are you too good for us? Lol They both took turns doing this the whole time while I was always DW of them which was good. It’s was dark and they were still close enough in the thick ravine below me that I left ole Wobbles standing there primed to get whacked tonight. Fugg him! I have 3 camera out around him and two are almost on him so if I don’t get any fight videos I’ll at least get before or after film. I’ll definitely climb back up that stand again before I leave but it’s just not happening right there apparently. Time to checkout another set in the morning and if it’s not happening there I’ll go to another area. It’s happening somewhere.👍🏻

Young buck bedded in the middle of the photograph.

Another fun hunt this evening @theotherfarm again. Within the 2.5hr. hunt, I saw three deer - two bucks & a nice doe, and all got within 10yrds eventually. I was able to sneak in while the two of them were bedded within 50yrds of my tree nearly the entire time up until about sunset. Last encounter was a decent buck that was relentlessly seeking out the prior doe. Managed to capture the buck encounters on the bow camera and the doe on the cell-cam. I'll be back at it again sometime tomorrow.

Good night!

Nice job Michael- good shot, pls update on how the glands work.

I'm again on top w a SE breeze an rising thermals... this has been a good cruising path over the years... haven't sat it for two years.

Another night, no mature bucks in any of the 4 cell cams at the farm. Only hunting the AM today, then relieving my wife and staying with 2 sick kids. Behind the house listening to coyotes and the morning commute. Only bumped one getting in, which is par for the course. This is a late morning spot, so 10-12 will be the window of opportunity if I get one. Hoping to see my first shooter of the year...

I'm in a spot that can be hunted on any wind under 5 mph in the mornings because of the thermals. Need a stiff breeze in the evening to pull it off, but mornings like this with the sun shining, it's like a vacuum effect.

Shooter seen. He's on a doe that headed towards my neighbors corn pile 300 yards up the ravine. Had another lone doe 180 degrees the other way 300 yards, hide herself in a small island of cover in the neighbors abandoned pasture. Better than a skunk!
