LIVE from the stand 2025-26

Windy here is Muskingham. But it was worse Friday and they were active. While I was back in Columbus doing the family picture thing, had 2 nice 8’s walk right by my stand. They probably need another year so probably good I wasn’t there for one of my classic ground shrinkage moments.
Your woman needs remedial training to make sure that shit doesn't happen again. 😒

Doe and yearling passed 100 yds away right at sunset. Acted skittish. No bucks seen.

My son and I had some action last night with a couple bucks that just didn’t come in close enough for a shot.

I’ve been out this morning since 8:30. I thank the good Lord for Goretex today… this wind would be brutal without it. One young buck cruised by at 8:45 and a lone doe walked by me at 20 yards at 9:45. Surprised there’s not been a buck on her trail yet.

My son was already begging me to take him back out again tonight. The wind is right for it. So I better seize the opportunity while he’s fired up.

5 doe and a new buck showed up today. Not a shooter but he’ll be good in a couple years if he makes it. He’s already got a patch of fur between the shoulder blades missing and a noticeable limp going on. So not sure if he got his ass kicked or crossed paths with a vehicle….
I’m done, got down and went and had a late breakfast with my brother. Stopped at the owner’s house and said my goodbyes and told them I’d see them in a couple weeks.
Now to get all packed back up and load the truck for the trip home tomorrow….
It’s been a nice 8 day hunt even if no shooters presented themselves. 5 hours on stand in the morning and 4 in the afternoon and saw deer just about every sit. Can’t complain about that.
Good luck fellas!
