Waiting for my girlfriend to get out of class figured I would share a snow update, it has been relentless all morning with the snow and should continue for the next 24 hours. Good thing I have all day off tomorrow for a all day attempt! Good luck everyone out their today!

My buddy (who shot a 195 net NT last year), did it again. The deer he shot today was bedded with a doe. He got sneaky, shot him at 10 yards. It's a giant, again. He had never seen this deer before today. If he had been in a stand on that farm today he would have never seen this deer. He watched him for 2 hours before shooting it, they never moved. Lock down worked for him.

Well, i set a new personal record of getting up the tree/hanging stand/being ready to hunt with the mobile set up. One word: graceful. It was like an out of body experience. I remember thinking 'thats the tree'. Next thing i know im knockin an arrow. Haha.

Saw one litte dink from stand.

Saw around 10 from pulling in driveway to walking into final location.

Was not expecting the wind. Coldest ive been in a while.

Be hunting a diff spot tonight.

Place has been untouched this year from hunting pressure.

Have had my uncle and cousin in stands all day.uncle has seen 0 deer but Dave has a big guy locked down on a doe and several small bucks all around.Big guy keeps chasing them off and he has had him at 70 yds just needs him to get a little closer. They r in a thicket next to standing corn.Keeping my fingers crossed as tomorrow is their last day of hunting before heading home.

Best rut action I've ever witnessed in 10 seasons on this farm and it was over in 2 minutes. Came to full draw only to be spoiled by a sapling. Thought it was Darryl, but it may have been a different, bigger buck. I'll look at pics later on.

Had to sit on the opposite side of the farm tonight and vacate where I've seen the shooter the last two nights because of bad wind direction. Gotta still hunt smart I guess. Dad saw a shooter come out of this area last night. We shall see.

Love this cold snap.

Got down and went to a vantage point overlooking a shelf with thick bedding at either end. They vanished down this way. I feel better about this spot than where I was...

So that definitely wasn't DD. This was a heavy 8-9 with long, wrapped main beams and similar tine length. Rack was polished with gnarly brownish red bases. He had beam length and mass to the tune of 10" or better on DD. Could have been the first OBB I've ever drawn on. When I first glassed him, my first thought was "thats a giant". Definitely bigger than my last buck.

Needed 5 steps or 5 seconds. I could have got an arrow through there, just not in the 2 seconds he stood there. 4-5 steps and he's 30 yards broadside. That's my luck...
