Oh crap, I thought about deer & it cost me. Are you ever amazed on how well the dark coat of a deer blends in with everything ? Well, I wanted a new pair of insulateds & I got to thinking how well I'd blend in with something of the same color. I went into town & looked at bibs. My old carhartts are over 30 yrs old & as I love them, it's time to retire them. I have a lot of memorable faded blood stains on them. The browns just didn't look right, so I bought a pair of camos. Good luck all !

I agree Brock.I really like the week of halloween and first week of November.it is amazing how even the does disappear this time of nov. But it only takes a minute and it can all change.Hell we still have 11 standing cornfields around the square we hunt so I know where our deer are just wait till the corns off and will be back in business.lol.

Well saw 2 younger bucks roaming around again, I think things are going to break here soon again! And my girlfriend asked what I would like for Christmas, I replied with " http://scentsmoker.com, I need this and some DDW laundry detergent and that's it. Oh and 2 bags of wood chips" she said seriously, a bee smoker? And I was like no it's a scent smoker it's the best thing ever made! Haha just thought I would share a funny story

I am at the shop after dropping Mason at basketball practice, decided to take the night off. On our way to town at 4 I saw a nice buck strolling around my neighbor's cut beanfield...500 yards from anything! I hate the rut! Also, Townzen just texted to say everyone he's talked to has said they are running around all over the place. Typical, I'm working. :)

I hope you guys are seeing something!

Ended up having a border line 8 walk through at 20 yards. If I'd have had my release he may have had an arrow slung his way. I'm now part of the I forgot my release club haha

Is it turkey time yet??? One the worst November's that I have ever seen!!! About to throw in the towel until youth weekend and enjoy Addy blasting the first thing we see......

I think the deer around here are confused. They move more when it's 60 degrees then when it's 30 degrees. Didn't see jack tonight. Well, except maybe like 3 Boone & Crockett squirrels. Fattest squirrels I've ever seen. Too bad I had the intention of seeing deer. Lol. Mornings are much better so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

So I'm hoping this "lockdown" business breaks by the weekend and they're on the prowl looking for love again, or at least showing themselves, by the weekend. Thought for sure the cooler weather would have them moving. Trying to figure it all out...

It's cause youre hunting deer, and sometimes the stupid things just do whatever deer want to do...which makes NO sense to us at times. I just ran back into the shop to get things closed up. Dang near mashed a little buck just down the road from my house. Why in the heck he thought it would be cool to walk up the middle line of a state hwy is beyond me, but that's what he was doing. Stupid deer being a deer with much smarter humans all over the place trying to figure out why he didn't walk by their woodland treestands tonight. I can't wait till the rut switches gears again and these deer start acting like deer should! I hope it's early tomorrow morning as I'll once again be draggin my carcass out of bed way too early trying to find 'em.
