Somehow I missed this. Reading your post sure made a heavy feeling in my heart. Your family will be In my prayers. God bless you.

Today is a day that has haunted me for the past several months. One year ago I lost my hunting buddy, my best friend, and my son. I know I have said it several times but I whole-heartedly believe it. From every tragedy something good comes with it. In this one there have been several good things. Don't get me wrong, the selfish side of me would trade all of them and more for just one more day with Connor. More than that I would love for his mother to have one more chance to hug him. Connor will always be with us, watching over us, putting a smile on our faces, and a warmness in our hearts. I struggle knowing that so many young people have had to go through losing a close friend, a team mate, a class mate, or in one little girls situation her boyfriend. I hate knowing that so many lost an innocence way too young in life.

This past year though has brought a lot of people closer together. An entire community was brought together. We have gotten to be very close with people that otherwise we may have never gotten to know. A lot of people/business have given like crazy to support honoring Connor's legacy through the scholarship fund. It has not and never will cease to amaze me the kindness and unselfishness shown. Through this kindness we were able to help 3 of Connor's school mates with their college expenses by selecting them as the inaugural recipients of the Connor James Wallace Memorial Scholarship Award.

I thank everyone for their support and their prayers over the last year. I ask everyone for one favor. Please keep the 5 kids that were riding ATV's with Connor when the accident happened in your prayers. These kids must go through the rest of their lives with this accident. One was on the ATV with Connor and luckily does not remember much but does have flashbacks from time to time. The other 4 were on 2 other ATV's and were the first on scene. They not only have to deal with the visions of the scene but also several suffer with survivors remorse.

Thank you to all the TOO family as well. The support you have given me and Theresa can only be described as humbling and a gift from God.
Bless you all. I will never be able to repay all of you but I will pay it forward in your honor.

I'm at a loss of words, don't know more to say than I'm praying for those kids and for your family as well. That is also a very nice that the scholarship award was able to help out 3 classmates. God bless you and your family

Still thinking of you Jon, especially watching the thread on your work on his El Camino. I'll have to swing down sometime this summer when I'm not working like crazy to grill and have a couple colds ones.

Still have my honor Connor band on the mirror of my truck too, it'll be in the wyoming backcountry with me this september. Hope to get some good pics with it for you.
