Caught a few to for the fish fry coming up at church. Set my jugs and got 21 channels 2 blues. Also caught 9 aggravating gar. Test run on the new jugs and they worked great.
Went looking for creek bass, and they weren't playing along much. I caught this one, lost another.
But I like targets of opportunity, and when I see massive amounts of panfish attacking my bass flies, I can only resist so long.
Bummer of the day was hooking and losing my first ever bowfin. I'd never even seen one in person before.

It was just one of those "ain't never done this before" moments that immediately ended when the hook popped free.

They are a awesome fish to battle on a fishing pole that's for sure! I caught one that hit a top water lure like it was a friggin musky lol. Ended up ripping the hooks out of the lure so I never had to touch it.

Got out for a couple hours today, to my surprise Levi wanted to join me. We didn’t kill it , but just enough to keep us going. We Should have had a better day but, I was more concerned about getting him lined up for shots than myself.

Kid asked if we can go again, hopefully we can get into them pretty good today. I prefer mornings but that whole school thing gets in the way.
BTW- The girls have asked me everyday when I pick them up, "is uncle Dave coming to play today?"
